Danny 'Swift' Garcia vs Lamont 'Havoc' Peterson

Will Lamont have the right style to trouble Danny ?

This is an interesting fight knowing that Danny really struggled against Herrera and a lot of people thought Danny lost that fight. I reckon Lamont as a better boxer than Herrera with more weapons in his arsenal.

What do you think ?

It seems to me that Garcia tends to fight up or down to the level of competition. He has so far in his career always found a way to win, so to me he is the favorite by decision, especially since he beat the guy that KO'd Peterson. Good fight.

Most people thought he lost that fight.

I still think he'll beat Peterson fairly clearly though.

I think this is all Danny, but Danny has usually been a hot & cold guy who typically fights to the level of his competition. For this one though idk what to make of that cuz on the one hand Lamont beat Amir & other solid guys, but on the other he got blasted by Lucas & got popped for PEDs. Expect Danny to win regardless.

Yeah I also think that Herrera gave Danny a boxing lesson.

Lamont, as well could bring his A game and put a Herrera type of performance on Danny.

I'm not sure what to make of this fight. Do anyone of us know how good Peterson is without his synthetic testosterone?

Personally, I'm hoping for a Garcia victory by KO. I;'ve no respect for Peterson and his shady dealings.

I would think Garcia has this but hes so hot/cold. If Lamont can get inside and grind without getting his head taken off with counter hook this could be good.

will Khan and Matthysse fights be his peak in boxing ? I think that Matthysse fight took a lot from Danny.

Peterson is overrated by too many folks in boxing.

Garcia is gonna stop him in brutal fashion.

The PED factor is the biggest factor in this fight to me. No one really knows how much of Lamont is ability or PED fabrication. We will definitely find out this week because DG is going to be flying high for this one. It's all moot if the left hook lands because that punch is a game changer for DG.

Boring match up, Danny should rematch Lucas who he narrowly beat

I'm siding with Garcia in this one,he seems to be able to win(clean) in the big fights ,I actually thought he edged Herrera although he wasn't great and I thought Khan edged Peterson but all this probably says more about my inability to score a fight

Peterson has impressed me in his last couple fights albeit against poor opposition, certainly Santana was dire and Garcia done what he needed to do against Salka which is finish him early although both they fights were unacceptable then and even more so now that its not a unification fight

I wish it was for the belts though, just to tie them up,its a disgrace that its only 10 rounds and the loser will go on to defend their title as world champ as Lamont did against Jean after Matthysse flattened him

Still this PBC belt might be the good one

It will probably be a poor fight if I'm honest

As some others have said, I can only look at that way that Matthysee dismantled Peterson. Garcia hasn't been great in the last couple of fights, but I still think he has too much for Lamont.

I have never rated Peterson, and feel he is very lucky to hold a belt. The officials robbed Khan in their fight, and that is the only real creditable win of his in my opinion. The IBF have been very lenient with him, I am not sure how he still has that belt.

I get the same sense. He got the win but it took a lot out of him.
