Scott Dann article

Saw this about Scott Dann, terribly unlucky to get injured when he did, his career was peaking and a title shot wasn't out of the question. He had beaten Wayne Elcock who 2 years later challenged Abraham. I watched the Eastman fight again, and have to agree that Dann knocked him down in the first, in the first 15 seconds of the fight, but no count. I don't think it would of made much difference to who won in the end, as Eastman just had a bit too much knowledge and punch.

Thanks for the link - these articles about ex boxers are interesting, but they are a bit depressing! Hopefully there are some ex boxers out there who gave had a bit of luck.

I didn't think Dann was bemoaning his life now, just could of been different for him
These type of articles are written focusing on the negatives sometimes though. I blame Bunce

He was a really good fighter and it's incredible he boxed Naseem as an amateur flyweight in a national final.

I was boxing in Plymouth at Devonport Guildhall in 2004 and was walking around the venue looking for my opponent to check him out. I was searching for someone my kinda size and weight who looked like a boxer and found a guy standing at the back of the hall chatting. I stood nearby for a short while and was giving him the evil eyeball in an attempt at intimidation. My trainer came up to me and asked what I was doing and when I explained he laughed and said, "Good luck you tuss, that's Scott Dann". Oops

I see Scott at shows a lot in Plymouth still very well liked,is down to earth and a fans favourite, good too see people put time back to the amateurs, I believe he would have made it at world level, had power in both hands to trouble anyone

It is something all young pros starting out need to take on board. Dann was a good pro, had 7 or 8 title fights and still has to do a full time job for a living. Whatever they get paid it isnt enough.

Scott Dann

Wayne Elcock
Steven Bendall
Larry Sharpe
Alan Jones
Danny Thornton
Hussain Osman
Kreshnik Qato
Andy Halder
Yuri Tsarenka
Howard Eastman - (Lost)

He was a decent fighter, but didn't really get the chance to prove it any further.
