For whatever reason is being contested at a catch-weight of 143 pounds.Peterson must win this fight to keep his IBF Title.If Peterson loses,then IBF's two leading contenders will fight for title on Aprill 11.The two contenders are Ik Yang19(14)-0 & Cesar Cuenca 47(2)-0.

Garcia needs to be stripped by WBC and WBA, as he hasn't fought at 140 for 18 months. Peterson fought just 8 months ago, so I am not sure what their problem is.

I guess they,want to mess over Peterson & Strip him of his belts cuz his a huge underdog in the fight.I notice Peterson title wasn't on the line,in the Matthysse fight if so,Lucas Matthysse would be IBF Champion.

Why is this at a catchweight? Can Garcia not make 140 these days? He never struck me as a particularly huge 140 pounder.

Probably when you take into account the depth of the talent that's at Welterweight, but I don't think he will disgrace himself though.

It still wouldn't be fair to strip Peterson of his Title,when Danny Garcia wasn't puting his title on line recently,his last fight was against a bum Rod Salka,when Garcia should of been fighting top contenders like Viktor Postol,Lucas Matthysse,Adrien Broner,Ruslan Provodnikov,Jessie Vargas,& Amir Imam.It should be the same way for Garcia also,no more cherry picking.

Its a catchweight fight. Can't fight for any 140lb belt if you weigh 143lbs.

I know its a CW but why? Unless they both definitely moving up therefore should have reliquished or be stripped immediately

Also if fighters are just gonna ignore belts and fight catchweights then how we gonna know whose best?

I trust independent rankings more than abc belt group rankings. Thats typically how I decide who's the #1 guy in any division.

It don't matter if Peterson losses he's moving up to 147 anyway so as Garcia.I have strong opinion that Peterson would get his ass bang up at 147 by any top welterweight.

I have read that Danny Garcia comes in 10-15 lb rehydrated which gives him a huge advantage over guys who only rehydrate to 5-7 lb. Which means he is pretty much fighting as a middleweight in the light welterweight division. Wonder where he gets all that power..

Most 140 pounders are around 150 in the ring, many are close to 155. It's not uncommon.

Lamont Peterson is not a bum,why would he have IBF title if he was,U need to go do some research,Peterson fought Kendall Holt,Amir Khan,Victor Ortiz,& Timothy Bradley.Lamont just had a embarrassing lost to Matthysse & that was it.May not be the best, but Peterson is far from being a bum.
