1 month away today and only 1 undercard opponent confirmed plus the main event very likely to be pulled.

Could this be the worst arena card yet?

Imagine the stick and conspiracy theories Warren would be getting if 4 weeks ahead of one of his cards this was the case.

Then again do Matchroom/Sky care about none Pay Per View shows anymore?

Would actually be surprised if the show goes ahead at this rate.

Yeah thats my thinking too can't wait for the battle for a refund (minus booking fee of course!!)

Don't think sales were ever doing well (it was only set up for 3/4 length and lower tiers only).

Think if frankie does get brook fight they are adding anthony joshua which will bring in a lot of casual fans

This is where booking fees are a disgrace. If Gavin is being pulled out to boost a potential ppv card on a different date in the same month then Matchroom should do the decent thing. Obviously, they won't and will say it's out of their hands.

A lot of people will have bought tickets specifically for Gavin though.

Im sure they will be able to swap them for his other fight.The feedback im getting from lads is that joshua being on the bill is creating a lot of interest with people who dont normally buy tickets.I know the yafai bros macklin and eggington are selling pretty well for this show.

Must be something about Brimingham and Kell Brooks involvment

When my Brother was fighting Brook for British it was scheduled for Brimingham , me and few of my family booked flights / hotel and we found out from Kev 2/3 weeks before that his fight was being changed to Glasgow

F.warren still hadnt mentioned this untill about 1 week before that the main event was changed but the show would go ahead with Don Brodhurst in commenwealth fight.

We still went to Brimingham for a Night out as it was paid for and had a good laugh dressed up for a halloween but thats not my point it the way boxing fans are treated.

We Didnt go to the Boxing show but i did have chat with Jim Watt on flight on way down and was a decent bloke.

Joshua fighting in a knock over isn't a main event though Jon surely? Granted it brings casual fans in but are we gonna see a proper 12 round competitive fight on this card?

I'll still go to support Sam and the other local lads anyway (as done on plenty of small hall shows), but can't lie I won't be happy.

Pretty poor really but as we know we are the last people that any of the big promoters give a shit about.

At the moment it is an awful card. If Hearn can't make the cards of suitable enough quality then he needs to put on less cards...simple.

MisMatchroom need to make an announcement on this ASAP its being reported that Gavin/Brook is on plenty of places but nobody mentions the loyal Gavin/Midlands boxing fans who've brought tickets for this show or indeed even Van Heerden whos been well and truly shafted

Frank has a show on the same night at Wembley arena that looks to be a very similar shape to Eddie's Birmingham show.
We keep getting told how boxing is booming in the UK, but it is difficult to swallow when both of our top promoters are exactly one month away from arena shows Laden with talented fighters vs TBAs.

If Gavin is going to be moved to the May 30th show, does that mean he will vacate the Commonwealth strap and let Eggington ans Van Heerden fight for it?

Franks that night looks poor too but at least its as advertised.

Van Heerden said on twitter he wouldn't be interested in that fight.

To be honest I can't see Eggington being in too much of a tough fight hes just come off the back of his two most testing fight I'd espect a bit of a gimme (especially as no opponent yet announced)

Well Hearn is being a hypocrite then always quick to say I don't announce fights which aren't signed and have sly digs at FW as well about it.

Absolutely right......time and time again I have fallen for this type of thing. (I'm not the brightest to be fair)

I'm very much a casual fan like a lot of people and when you see these fights advertised and 'promoted' a lot of casual fans see it as though its happening and start to get excited and buy tickets, book travel etc

Most people are not as clued up as some on here and its not fair on folk in my opinion.

Pal I think calling yourself a 'casual' fan is doing you a dis-service really, to be hardcore boxing fan (as the term goes) you shouldn't have to be clued up on contract signing and agreements instead of signed to fight etc!! It should be about boxing, if a fight is announced as happeneing by the official source you should be able to take it as happening.

According to the arena Gavin is still fighting on their show....so looks like Hearn is adding those to the list of fans, Van Heerden of people hes keeping in the dark. Great way to treat the people of Birmingham and the Midlands on Matchrooms first show here! I'll stick to shows at the Tower, Holte Suite etc from now on!

Gavin is the main picture in the poster and on the matchroom website, the product description is about him fighting Van Heerden for the IBF international welterweight title
