Looks like some short notice stay busy rounds. Reyes is a bit undersized, but it looks like he gave undefeated Michael Seals some good work in his last fight. Also has only been stopped by higher level fighters. Second straight southpaw for Shimmell as well.

Yes, it was supposed to be a TV fight against a better opponent but the other side backed out. So now it's just a stay busy fight.

Why they back out? And who was it if you are at liberty or willing to speak on it?

Good luck :box:

I can't say who Reggie. The excuse was something about needing more time to prepare for Jordan. Yet they would have had the same exact amount of time as Jordan would have had to prepare for him.

Jordan sparred Adonis Stevenson for a month so another southpaw made sense. Jordan has fought so many southpaws over the years that it's no big deal.

Carlos Reyes isnt an easy fight...despite the scorecards he gave Seals a hell of a fight. He's certainly an above average journeyman/club fighter. He can crack but his chin isnt the best either.

How long was there prepare for the TV fight?

I keep hoping Jordan will have a decent fight so he gets promoted up our ratings. He has gone a while without fighting so a 'tread water' affair is more understandable. I am sure he will learn more from his high quality sparring than junk fighting but I know it must be frustrating not to get meaningful fights. I am not expecting him to fight top 20 fighters but a couple of top 100 types and then a top 50 gatekeeper are the best ways IMO to build a fighter. All too often fighters don't learn the total craft by fighting these middle men and gradually moving up in class, then they meet an old timer and get out hustled by experience.

It was about 6 weeks ago so it seemed like a lame excuse.

Jordan is in shape and ready to shine. Jordan keeps improving and opponents that may have been challenging a year ago aren't so challenging now.

I had read that it was a tough fight for Seals in spite of what the scorecards would suggest.

Looking at his record, I like the fact Jordan has fought about a dozen Heavyweights, so if he decides to fight @ HW in the future, he already has a bit of that under his belt.
