Audley vs Skelton: who wins?

I think Skelton would win. He would just outwork Harrison, shrug off the occasional rally from the big southpaw and keep on coming.

It depends. If the Harrison that appeared against Julius Francis, and doesn't seem to work then Skelton could have it, but if the Harrison that beat Hersisa turns up he may edge it. Skelton isn't exactly a world prospect himself.

Pretty much agrre with everything you say, I just wonder how Skelton would stand up to some of Harrison's big shots. He seemed hurt a few times against Mirovic, but apart from that, his chin hasn't really been tested.

Skelton's chin is not in question. He has been round-housed by some of the biggest guys there are in his pre-professional boxing days. Skelton (although not world class) is the best Britain has to offer. I'd bet money on him over Aud any day.

I'm not sure on this one, I would edge towards Audley but I think I will just flip a coin.

I think it might be a modern day version of Lennox Lewis - Gary Mason but with the differences in class/experience less exaggerated.
I have a feeling Harriaon might actually beat Skelton quite easily.

Harrison on points. He's too good a boxer.

Completely agree. One thing you can guarantee about Skelton is that he will come forward relentlessly and Audley will not be allowed to just stand there and do nothing.
He would have to up his efforts from last night twenty-fold and I think it would do him a lot of good, to be honest.
I think this fight can be made too.

Audley, he didnt seem interested last night or in the fight with Francis, every time he had them hurt he would step away apart form in the stoppage and the knock down in each of those fights. Audley's footwork and balnce would have Skelton thinking what the hell is going on and Audley can counterpunch as well which would give him a big upperhand on the 1dimensional Skelton.

Have to admit my gut reaction is that Skelton will nick it in an untidy points decision. It seems like that Audley doesn't really like to mix it that much, something he will be forced to do with Skelton. I can see Skelton bullying Audley, making him fight ugly, in close and on the ropes, and thudding out a points win.

Without having seen Harrisons latest performance I have to go for Skelton via a late KO. I just think he is the more natural fighter of the two. Skelton showed last time that he can adapt when faced with a problem. From past performances, and from what I have been told about his latest effort, Audley still reacts badly to getting tagged (i.e. showboats etc). So far (although I aint seen Bonin) his opponents have been to inept to follow it through, Skelton wouldn't be.
I would say Harrison's power is not much bigger (if bigger at all) than Sprotts and Matt took them well. Not once I have thought Harrison would beat Skelton, I just don't think he has it.

Last nights performance confirmed what has been mentioned before, Harrison is not a big puncher. He hit Bonin squarely a few times and did not really bother him, his stamina is in question, he fully expected to blow Bonin out of there within three, notice how he stood up the first three rounds, and also he doesn’t like to get hit, he was blinking before the punch landed.
Skelton would fight similar to Bonin, only faster and more determined, Harrison whilst the better boxer, hardly kept Bonin away.
Before last night I would have sided with Audley to score a late stoppage, but with last nights performance confirming all the doubts levelled at Audley I would have to go with Matt out pointing him in a rough and untidy affair.

Harrison for me, he may have his flaws, but Skelton has just as many if not more.

Harrison on points. Harrison would outbox skelton and against someone who bundles forward dangerously the way Skelton does, Audley's talent will shine through

Skelton. Not because he's world class or anything like it, and not because he punches harder. Audley just does not have enough pop in his shots or strength in close to discourage this fearless 18st workhorse. Audley will be spent well before the 12 rounds are up.
But I WILL be rooting for Harrison on the night that's for sure.

Yes, I agree. Skelton is limited, but he makes the best of what he's got.
Audley has some ability, but not nearly as much as he thinks he's got. Audleys terrible on the back foot, everything goes wrong, his chin goes up in the air, his arms flail around.
Harrison will get KO'd sooner rather than later, possibly by Skelton.

Audley would beat the bear !
Remember - AH is bigger than Skelton - a Southpaw. Heavier - taller - better boxer...
Skelton is just a rough brawler..
AH stops him.. Remember - BOB Mivrovic almost did and id he came to fight more than 4 rounds or bothered to train - Skelton would have lost !
AH KO 8 or wide wide points.!

Skelton can outwork a lazy Audley for an ugly points decision, possibly stopping him between 8-12.

I think Skelton outworks him. Audley cant seem to throw more than half a dozen shots a round.

Thank god! Someone else noticed this. Mirovic hurt Skelton on a number of occasions, and I'm just wondering how he'd react to Audley ripping him with combo's in close (like in the Hersisia fight). Someone mentioned how he's been 'round-housed by some of the the biggest guys in K-1' but look how many stoppage loses he had.
I think people are being a bit unkind to Audley in the power department, IMO he has good power, not brilliant, but enough to get Skelton's attention and discourage him from steaming in.
I see Harrison winning wide on points after a shaky start.

If Audley manages to hurt Skelton I'll be absolutely amazed.
IMO Harrison would have to throw and land so many of his best punches to get Skelton out of there it's just not an option for him. His lack of natural fitness prevents him from mounting that kind of attack.
Audley V Skelton

Skelton by stoppage. Audley seems to freeze everytime he gets hit.[/b]

Toss up.
Harrison better boxer but Skelton may have the bigger heart. Still neither are fresh 20 somethings so in a hard 12 rounder it would be intresting to see what would happen in about the 10th or 11th. I don't think anybody knows for sure what will happen which suggests that the fight has to happen if Warren and Harrison want it to of course. Both need to give a little to make it happen.
