I read somewhere that this fight was better than Gatti/Ward 1. Is that true in your opinion for those who have SEEN it? I never even heard it was good before. For my part, Jimmy Young was oe of the most boring fighters I have seen. He made Ali look exciting.

I haven't seen it, but I've always wanted to see the Young-Lyle fights . . .

Yes. IMO, he is one of the worst fighters to watch of all time. He and SRL are tied for first has the worst to watch. Have you seen his fights with Young, well I will make this easier, outside of the fights you listed ALL his fights were PAINFUL to watch. His fights with Spinks, Lyle and Young were the worst in history, easily negating the others you listed.

Who is more exciting at heavy then Ali. Again, I will say only Jimmy Young is worse to watch. I would rather watch Chris Byrd, who people say is boring, then Ali. The only truly great fights Ali was in was against Foreman and Frasier and Fraiser and Foreman were always in good fights. I think Lennox Lewis, again someone considered boring, had a much more exciting career to watch in sum total. Ali either ran like a chicken in his so called prime or he layed on the ropes like a heavy bag as he aged. Very boring fighter. I can't believe anyone can disagree. He is just unenjoyable to watch, IMO.

You're entitled to your opinion but I disagree. Lewis didn't actually fight like braveheart vs a faded Holifield and Tyson.... and ran like a rabbit against Tua..... so I'm surprised that you rate Lewis higher for entertainment than Ali!.

Lewis is too slow to run. He out boxed Tua. He schooled him. Lewis blitzed Tyson too, so I don't know what you are talking about. The second fight with Holyfied was pretty good. Although, I agree that he fought like a chicken against Holy the first time and he still won by 9 rounds.

OK, well you have all 3 Frazier fightsn with the 1st and 3rd candidates for fights of all time, the ones solkov lists, plus you can add Liston 1, Williams, Jones, Cooper 1 and 11, Folley, Blin, Foster etc.

So 3 not-so-great fights against Lyle, Young, and Spinks, when Ali was past his best, erases all of those fights???? Give me a break!!!

Some people can't abide the "make the other guy look bad" style of a Young or a Byrd. But Ali could do whatever the situation demanded, and if you don't appreciate him, then boxing just ain't your game. Granted, the bout with Young was Ali's worst performance, but it by no means defines a career.

Whatever. I have about 25 Ali fights on DVD or VHS. I would say the same about you guys who say Ali is exciting. It is total bs, imo. Seriously, the guy was very boring. He had some good fights, but I am saying percentage wise, if ESPN classic is showing a fight outside of the hype fights like Foreman, the Liston Dives and Frazier one and 3....his fights get very dull. Anyway, Ali coverage is some of the worst in not only sports history, but journalistic history. It reminded me of the last Chavez PPV. The Colonel Bob Sheridan(spelling) said the noise in Mexico was so deafening he couldn't hear himself. It clearly was not true. The crowd was very subdued. Ali in his prime would run and hold in a cowardly fashion, the announcers would say wow what footwork, what ring savy. I call it disgraceful, also keep in mind nearly all of Ali's opponents were very much smaller than him. When Lennox does it, people say he is boring because he doesn't use his size. When Ali does it, it is called "slick, amazing or 50 other superlatives." When Chris Byrd slaps, people say he is boring he slaps, never mind the fact he is ALWAYS giving up size, power and height.. Ali the Giant slaps and people say what handspeed. I just wish you sheep, that is what you are, sheep could come at me with something even basically creative. You haven't seen the fights? Yeah, ok. I get my kicks out of coming on message boards with other losers and talking about shit I have never seen. Please it is as ridiculous as it is stupid. Have any of you even thought that maybe you are seeing what you are told you are seeing. I do enjoy laughing at the biased commentary Ali receives. It would be funny, if in reality the judges didn't rob so many deserving fighters. Another point is, I wasn't there when Ali was fighting. I read about this ring genius, the "greatest". I have seen damn near most of his fights and he is /was nothing more than a great fighter, among many. He is also the most overrated person in any profession ever.
