Wach vs Price--June 6th

A Polish forum member posted in the CS that these two will fight on June 6th.
Interesting opponent for Price considering that Wach may have the best chin in the division and has shown some power with his right hand.

Dangerous but necessary fight for Price, its hard to gauge how David will do because he hasn't fought anyone of note since Thompson
I think Price is the better boxer than Wach and if he stays switched on he can cruise to a decision although he doesn't want to be getting tagged or it will turn the fight the other way,great fight me thinks

Yes, it's a very interesting match-up and hopefully it doesn't fall through if it's signed like the CS poster suggested.

3 ABA titles, Commonwealth Gold, Olympic Bronze as an amateur and British Heavyweight Champion as a pro suggests he might be cut out for it, just not at the higher level in the pro game. Agreed that is harsh.
Price has a chance against anyone who stands in front of him.
He can take out Wach.

Anyone heard anything official yet? Seems like a strange fight for Price to take. He's still in rebuilding mode. Why take on a guy as big as Wach that has a good chin and can punch?
In saying that though, I'd give the slight edge to Price.

I hope Price wins as he seems like a nice chap and will set up a big all UK clash with Joshua nicely. But I went for Wach as he's got good stamina, a granite chin and is big enough to reach Price's chin. He took an absolute pasting from Klitschko if memory serves but kept on coming. Doped up or not that takes some doing.

Don't believe this is happening. Wach is one of the last heavyweights I'd stick price in with at this stage. I can't see anything other than a loss for david and that would be a shame.
If I saw fury haye or Joshua in with Wach I'd be saying that's a dangerous opponent and giving them credit. This is a hard fight.

Completely agree that it's harsh. Audley was probably not cut out for the pro game as he was gun shy against the best. Price threw his shots but didnt have the engine against tony. According to Tony, price wasn't the only person that night who bit iff more than they could chew!

Doesn't seem like it's signed yet, as was suggested in the CS, but based on this article Wach's team was approached about the fight. It does seem like an odd opponent for Price's team to chose, but perhaps they've seen how easy it is to hit Wach and believe that Price hits hard enough to take anyone out, in which case he could outdo Wlad in a way and make himself significantly more relevant.

I like Wach in a close fight. However, if Price doesn't use his jab enough in the fight he will be stopped.

Wach by KO, easy. Anyone who saw the Klitschko fight knows what an utterly insane chin he has - Price is not going to stop him. Furthermore it's hard to see Price staying away from Wach's own power for 10 rounds without succumbing - it'll take Wach a while to catch up with Price, but catch up he will.

Highly decorated amatuer, won most of his pro fights, a right hand like a sledge hammer. I think he's very much 'cut out' for boxing! Not the best chin but nobodies perfect.

I doubt this one happens, seems a very odd choice of opponent given how they've been handling him since his comeback.
From what I've seen on Price's Twitter it's more likely to be Chisora.

One of the Sauerlands claimed that they're looking elsewhere because Chisora turned down a six-figure offer, but Wach does seem like an odd choice.

I think people are in too much of a rush to write Price off, before the Thompson fight it was a different story. In the first fight he got caught, its heavyweight boxing & it happens. the second fight was a promotional mistake rushing him back in there without restoring his confidence first.
This is a dangerous fight, but he's had the rebuilding treatment & needs to be in there with this level of fighter to progress his career.

Translated to Wach is definitely just the name we'll drop to make it look like we're trying to make good fights. No doubt they'll be looking for a soft touch

Manuel Charr wouldnt be the worst fight in the world, but you do wonder at his age how long he can afford to go at such a slow comeback pace.

Not got an issue with those three names. Even at this stage they're the best Price will have faced bar Thompson.
Hindsight is always 20:20 but that's where they went wrong with Price. He went from Sexton, an old Skelton and Harrison straight to Thompson.
British level straight to a very experienced world level campaigner. It's good if he fights a few top 30ish guys and gets as many competitive rounds as possible (he's only been past 6 rounds twice) before taking the plunge at top level again. At 31 he isn't young but at the same time that's not old for a heavy weight.
