Sounds like a brilliant night. No way I can make it but I'd love to go. I was reading about the ref who's gone out of his way to find all these ex-champs - in Box Monthly wasn't it?

Strange when you think recent stars like Bruno, Benn and Eubank wont be invited, because they never won British titles.

He was at one I attended years ago. He threatened me because I'd been critical of him in a preview. I was trying not to laugh because I could tell he wasn't really going to kick off and because he was hard to understand. He's all right, Kirk. He and Honeyghan for the undisputed world welterweight title in 1986 would have seen two British fighters meeting at their very peak. Two great British fighters.
