The poor guy's son-in-law is going to be...........Ricardo Mayorga :o

His daughter Dora Arguello plans to marry Ricardo soon. Jesus, this might push the troubled Alexis over the edge.

Imagine the honeymoon - a drag race followed by a nightclub brawl maybe?

You're joking! Arguello hates Mayorga! He slags him off constantly in the Nicaraguan press.
This is good news for Trinidad.

Isn't Arguello trying to take a video game company to court at the moment about some Boxing game using his name?

Associated Press
MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- Bulky, bored and rich, former welterweight champion Ricardo Mayorga said Monday he's just about ready to retire and get married.

"I'm bored with boxing. I only want two more fights, including the one against Tito Trinidad, and I will retire from the ring," Mayorga said.

Mayorga, 31, didn't say who else he might fight after meeting Felix "Tito" Trinidad on Oct. 2 in New York in a WBA international middleweight title fight.

Mayorga, known as "Matador" in his native Nicaragua, said he wasn't hurting for money.

"I have bought five very big houses, two farms with a good amount of land and I have money saved," he said.

Mayorga said his mother would administer his real estate while he would dedicate himself to two other pastimes he's noted for. He plans to build an auto racing track and a billiard parlor.

"I don't want any more boxing for anything," said Mayorga, who lost his welterweight title to Cory Spinks last December.

The bout with Trinidad was announced at a news conference in New York that Mayorga could not attend because of passport restrictions following legal problems.

On Friday, he paid $315 in bail and a court lifted an arrest warrant issued in an assault case. A 22-year-old Nicaraguan, Sergio Cortes, accused Mayorga of threatening him with a pistol and punching him in the face. Mayorga denied the allegations and said Cortes was harassing him.

Mayorga earlier had been hauled into court in cases ranging from alleged abuse of his ex-wife to illegal drag racing to failure to return rented videotapes.

Mayorga confessed that in addition to being bored, he will have to lose 33 pounds to meet the 160-pound limit for his bout with Trinidad, a once-feared fighter who hasn't had a fight in two years.
"I'm back with the public's support and I'm going to continue making history," Trinidad said.

Mayorga, naturally, insisted he'd knock out Trinidad -- within eight rounds. He later gave himself 12.

"Everybody knows that Trinidad is weak in the head and not in the jaw. So whether he wants it or not, I have 36 minutes (12 rounds) to hit him in the head and knock him out," Mayorga said.

Turning from the sports to the lifestyle pages, Mayorga confirmed his planned wedding to Dora Arguello, whose father Alexis, a former boxing great, has often criticized Mayorga's lifestyle and training habits.

Dora Arguello told the newspaper Nuevo Diario that Mayorga "is a man with a good heart, very open, with good feelings, and he respects me."

Alexis Arguello was traveling and could not be reached for comment Monday.

There was a post about this on the current scene forum a few days ago, apparently he's married some other bird!

There was a picture of him at his wedding with two banjo players but it has disapeared now. I can believe his talk of being overweight because he looked fat.

If anyone ever asks for an example of two people from the same country who are polar opposites, look no further than Arguello - Maryorga.

Moyarga has already married someone else:

Suddenly, Ricardo Mayorga decided it was time to get married. Yesterday in Nicaragua, the former champ tied the knot with girlfriend of four years and mother of his son Ricardo Jr., Vanessa Lovo. Mayorga needed less than 24 hours to make official his marriage with Lovo, since last night he quickly signed the paperwork and then threw a party in his home, close to the city of Masaya.

"I am very happy to get married with my friend of life for four years," said Ricardo, in the middle of the music noise created by the sound system and party goers. "You guys know I am a man with a very agitated lifestyle, but like I always say, I am crazy but I am not stupid. I know what I say and what I do. That is why I got married with Vanessa," said a jubilant Mayorga.

The new Mrs. Mayorga expressed happiness for their new union. "I am very proud of Ricardo, because we took a beautiful step, to be together forever. We planned to get married, but he came forward, ahead of time, with this beautiful surprise," said Mrs. Mayorga.

Ricardo Mayorga assured everyone that his marriage with Vanessa Lovo will not change his lifestyle, not even his plans to face Félix Trinidad on October 2. "I have to live my life with happiness. My honeymoon will be over in July, when I will travel to the United States to get ready for the fight with Tito," promised Mayorga.

Too bad the pic Broncano posted of Mayo with his pretty (that's right, she is pretty ... pretty heavy ;)) bride and with some sort of giant wooden panpipe-xylophoney thingie on his lap has vanished from the newspaper site.
