This fight happens on June 6th for the midlands light middle belt.
Thoughts?

Cracking fight that, Welborn's experience at area level and his British title fights, as well as going the distance a few times is enough for him to take it IMO.

Should be action packed

I like Jason Welbourn, I would put him as favourite in this fight.

Cant wait for this fight to happen and one i thought wudnt. Welborns power against aston speed and skills. Fancy welborn late stoppage.

Was all a bit WWE how they brought Aston into the ring after Welborns fight on Saturday wasn't Maley?

Glad the fights finally been confirmed that Wolvo bill is looking good.

Aston definitely has the better skills but think if Welborn pressures him and doesn't allow him to work I can see him getting it.

Very good small hall card if theirs no pull outs deffo going to this. Good to see the local lads in 50-50 fights after a fair few never happened

Its his first real test imo . A lot of local interest. Can make cases for both. Boxer v fighter

Ryan Aston is a talented lad, good skills, speed and power, but sometimes he tends to get involved too much, not the best chin, his biggest weakness, Jason Welbourn is a good puncher, tough and strong, but can be out boxed, apparently Welbourn knocked out Aston in sparring, but sparring is sparring, people take more risks in sparring, if Aston sticks to his boxing does not get careless, I can see him winning on points or a stoppage by body shots, but it is a big if, Welbourn is capable of landing a big punch and ending the fight if Aston makes a mistake, it is a 50/50 fight, but I have to go for Aston, he is the fresher of the two and he can dictate how the fight plays out.

I've got mates who are pals with Jason and mates who are pals with Tank...think that sums it up proper local derby this and a fight many people have wanted locally for quite a while.

Really looking forward to it, for me if Aston boxes he wins lets not forget he too can bang a bit especially to the body. If he frustrates Welborn I could see Welborn maybe getting caught late rushing in. Equally Welborn likes to pressure fighters I can't see Aston liking that he does like to have time to work. If Jason puts the pressure on he has just as good a chance.

So my prediction is...ask me later just looking forward to the fight at the minute cracker can't wait.

Yeah the reporter craig is a sound bloke met him many times and he loves it. All over his fb but his dodged the question who wins..... i fancy welborn stoppage late. Think aston out boxes him early but gets caught around 7-8

Saw welborn for the first time at walsall a few weeks ago , i wasnt that impressed and wondered what all the hype was about

Agree didn't look his best that night think it was just a case of getting in the rounds and getting the job done though knowing this fight was to come.

I dont think his had much hype. His a decent lad won midlands title at 2 weights defended his title then was given 2 chances against 2 top fighters in gavin and smith for the british. He earned his shots. The fight in walsall was a tick over 4 rounder working with his new team. A lot of local pride in this fight.

Midlands is about his limit from what i saw , not good enough to cut it at british level

Good call that would be a good fight

And spot on about Brum/Black Country derbies certainly something special about them. Don't think the rest of the country really get the rivalry (as they think we're Brummies) but its certainly there.
