Froch V Murray anybody?

I just read an interview with Froch where he said Murray should have been a 3-4 round job for GGG. He has a lot of respect for GGG, but I would love to see Froch in with Murray to remove the rust and to show whether he has enough left to make a credible challenge to GGG. Anybody agree? I could definitely get excited about Froch-Murray.

I see what you're saying. It doesn't excite me though because I'm pretty certain Martin wouldn't win it, although I think he could provide a stern challenge.

Froch is a top level fighter in his own right and should just go straight for GGG. If Murray can still do the weight ok then there is the winner of Lee v BJS which I would love to see. I couldn't see anything other than a Froch KO if this fight happened so it's not a fight I could get excited about really.

No doubt Murray would come to win but he would be made to look as crude as Abraham did against Froch,I'd like to see Martin in with Eubank Jr

No, but if Martin is serious about going up in weight I wouldn't mind seeing him fight one of the Smiths

Murray hasn't beaten anyone to deserve a shot at Paul

Ill pass. Not after devastating loss. Let Murray have a come back first and then there are plenty of good domestic fight for him at middle weight.
Froch seems determine to flash his legacy down the toilet. Retire already.

What is Froch doing to try ruin his own legacy? I don't understand. And he will NOT be fighting Murray, never in a million years.

Chasing that bum Chavez. Pulling out from two mandatory defenses and vacating titles. Moaning that GGG is not a draw, when thats the fight everyone want to see. Essentially avoiding challenges. If you are not pushing for the best fights and titles its time to retire.

He tried to make the Andre Ward rematch, but the American had absolutely no intention of coming over.
Carl said Ward was all smoke and mirrors, that he's got no intention of leaving his backyard ever.
Then he forecast that he couldn't do the weight anymore.
"Infact I don't even know if he can do super middleweight anymore, he won his medal at the Olympics at light heavyweight, he always struggles to do super middle and I don't know if you've seen the size of him lately, but he's like walking around at 200lb, so I think it's all hot air (by Ward)."
And sure enough, Ward has declared the Smith fight is at a 172lb Catchweight.
As if Smith had little chance as it was.
Hbo & Showtime have swerved Ward, not interested. He is now fighting on 'Black Entertainment Television'.

Surely Ward has to be stripped of title by now... inactivity, fighting over the smw limit etc..

Dont get me wrong, I'd peg down Ward as favourite if he did come to the UK and fight Froch again. But I think Froch could be a different force for him.
But that aside, the guy sounds off about the fight, when the reality is that his team contacted Carl's promoter about the chances of Smith going over there at the same time. This was before the Abraham rematch too. Paul took the rematch instead.
So despite Ward's bluster, he wants to fight people in his hometown forever.
He comes across as this 'professional' but is a bit of a prat. His late promoter Dan Goosen (RIP) literally got him everything on a plate for the Super Six, unlike the other Americans, he didn't even do the press announcement tour of Europe until the final date. And he dragged Goosen through the courts whilst he was a dying man.
Let's say he'd gone to Herning and fought Kessler there, he'd have been disqualified for the disgraceful head butts that split Kessler's face open. His fists didn't do any damage at all.
I hope Smith land's a peach on his chin.

Agree with everything you said until your last line.... No boxer on the planet id like to see sparked out cold more than Paul "The Prick" Smith

You could just watch the DeGale and Groves fights again then?
I can't knock Smith though, he's got to take every chance he gets.
Froch v Murray - no point, is there? I think Martin would do ok but would get stopped. That Golovkin beating will certainly add a fair miles to Murray's clock.
Murray's best off trying to get a challenge against one of the other MW champs. I'd favour him over Jacobs and a decent chance against Lee or even Cotto(which will never happen).

I love Martin Murray, he has not shirked a challenge once.
Going to Argentina to fight Martinez when everyone was terrified of him. Arguably got a draw too.
Went to fight Sturm in Germany, did get a draw. Then he boxed GGG when at his most feared.
But i think the size advantage he's had at 160lb will be lost going up, and I'm not sure he hits hard enough to stop Froch setting about him.
Be interesting to see what he does at super middleweight though, Sturm has headed up - so there is a story that can be made of a rematch between them both.

I like Murray for taking on the hardest fights but he hasn't got the power at middle to stop people so moving up will be bad move, especially against Froch!
As others have said, no thanks for this fight, Murray should target the other middleweight title holders.

Froch was just on Sky Sports, sounded like he is about to announce a fight coming up.
Possible opponents?
vs. Andre Ward?
vs. James DeGale?
vs. Mikkel Kessler?
vs. Bernard Hopkins?
vs. Gennady Golovkin?

I thought Kessler had retired?
Froch needs to fight Ward again. He should be screaming the house down for that fight.
