Less than a week away til Billy Dib 39-3 challenges Takashi Miura 28-2-2 for his WBC super featherweight title.

"The minute that I walked into a boxing gym I knew that it was my destiny, I knew I was going to be a world champion. You know at the age of thirteen I was writing on walls that I was going to be a future world champion, and I've already achieved that, everything from now on is what you call a bonus" - Billy Dib

"I also have a lot of respect for Lebanon and Palestine because that's where my family is from, but at the end of the day if you're not happy living in the country that you're living in you need to leave, and I'm very happy here and I'm very happy to represent to the highest level."

Best of luck to the Billy as it will be hard to beat Miura in his own dung hill.

Channel 9 will be showing the fight with their boxing program scheduled to start at 10pm (Sydney time) on Friday, 1st May 2015, after the Rugby League Test.

If boxing is going to appeal again to the mainstream sports fan it needs to be on FTV television.

Dib boxed well for 2 rounds. He got backed up into a corner half way through the 3rd and Miura landed a great left followed by 2 more shots that were not really needed. He beat the count but a good stoppage by the ref. He does'nt have the chin to mix it with someone like Miura.

Fair and reasonable summary. Miura is a destructive force.

He boxed well for 2 rounds and winning, being cornered, you need to keep your hands up, or nullify the incoming, with a hold.
Boring I know, but technically Dib hadn't even felt the power of a flush shot until that point.

Channel 9 please stick with the sport, we have some good fighters, and decent prospects coming through.
