In spite of talking about Monroe being a slick southpaw and a good opponent, Golovkin spent a few days in New York attending BWAA awards ceremony and the Wlad fight 3 weeks before his own fight.

Its part of his job to go on those events and promote fight. Not that he was out late in night clubs with hookers.

I do not like this fight for GGG at all. I've watched film on Monroe recently because I really knew nothing about him when this fight was signed and i was really impressed. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is going to be GGG's toughest fight to date. I also feel that it's going to come down to a close decision in the end.
I'm a huge GGG fan and he's #2 on my P4P list but this kid Monroe is slick. He's got great feet and i feel that he's going to be tough for GGG to find in there. It could be a really boring fight as a result but i see Monroe with a move, flurry, move offense for 12 rounds. Plus he's a southpaw and he's got fast hands. Of course, all that changes if GGG lands just one on the button and Monroe will drop like a house of cards.
But Monroe has the ability to steal some rounds and frustrate GGG in this one. GGG's always been in with boxers slow enough, that cutting off the ring was easy for GGG. Monroe is will not be one of those guys. I smell an upset in this one. Mark my words

I'm with you for the most part but I'm still on the fence because I'm not sure if Monroe possesses the goods to hurt Triple G to get the kind of respect he will need to operate by keeping GGG off of him.
An upset is not out of the question, Monroe does have everything you stated.

Monroe is slick, but he can't take GGG's punches for 6-12 rounds like Murray did. I think he can frustrate Golovkin, until he gets Geale'd in the fifth round.
