is ward vs GGG on the cards, now that ward is back?

don't know if that was discussed in length. seems to
me like a logical bout, definitely more reasonable
than GGG versus floyd or things alike ...

fergusg wrote:“As far as a fight with Ward… I just don’t think the finances are there right yet. It’s not a pay per view fight, Andre’s going to want a big chunk of money. reasonable.

Ward is on his way to LHW. His next fight is at a catchweight. Ward said GGG and his team only wanted to fight him at a catchweight and he said no. The fight ain't gonna happen. Ward is on his way up to dominate the LHW division. He can't wait on GGG any longer.

He was waiting on Golovkin ? Did he send an offer ? Did he even have a promoter willing to work with him ?

Ward isn't going to LHW. He doesn't want to get brutally knocked out by Kovalev.

His next fight is at 172, he's moving up to LHW. Ward took on and beat all comers at 168. You really think he's afraid of Kovalev? Foh.

GGG said in 2012 he's the CAN man. Anybody from 154-168 CAN get it. When it comes to Ward he's no longer the CAN man. At first he said he needed 2 or 3 more fights. Then he wanted to fight him at a catchweight. Then Ward wasnt a big enough draw, he wants JCC JR or Froch. Then he wanted to wait to fight Cotto to unify the division. Now he's talking the winner of MayPac. Anybody, except Ward, from 154-168 CAN get it from GGG.

Ward couldn't bring any money to the table and he still wants to be an A side, as situation with Froch proves.
Now if RN can get money and Andre can still make 168, then the fight can happen.

Ward hasn't committed to moving up yet and Virgil Hunter is against it. I hope he does move up, as it would make a Kovalev fight more realistic, and I find that significantly more interesting than a GGG bout or any fight Ward could have against a SMW.

Roc Nation has the money. They've shown they're willing to pay with their Quillin/Korobov purse bid, Ward & Cotto contacts. K2 is the one that hasn't shown they're willing to shell out money. And they're with HBO, they don't pay shit anymore for fights if it's not PPV. It's funny how it's perfectly on to say GGG won't fight Ward because he's not a draw but if any other fighter says that they're ducking. Keep enjoying GGG fight the bum of the month club coming in as a 100-1 favorite.

So, why wouldn't RN talk to Loefler and prefer Andre fight a bum at 172 ?

Number one because it's a tune up fight
Number two Ward has been calling GGG out since GGG said anybody from 154_168 CAN get it. Its K2 who's bee making excuses since that statement. They still won't fight him. Their excuse went from he'll be ready in 2-3 fights to Ward ain't a big enough draw.

Ward has never made an offer like the A-sider he claims to be. His team are not onboard anyway, both Virgil Hunter and RN CEO want the fight to be built up.

You're wrong as usual, a lot has changed. For one, Ward is no longer in court with his former promoter, and his new promoter may have money to burn.

Please re-read my first post in this thread again word-for-word and tell me what has changed since the article was published?
Until an offer has been made by Roc Nation for huge sums of money, the fight won't be made. Tom Loeffler's words, not mine!
GGG and Ward won't share the ring anytime soon... and that's something that cannot be debated!
I just told you what has changed:
1. Ward is able to fight
2. He may be able to produce a nice offer with his RN backing

It's very convenient to make callouts when in court, but go looking for Paul Smith when finally free to fight. You know what A-siders do when they want a fight? They make an offer. So where's Ward's?

You didn't read my post word-for-word, yet you keep telling me I'm wrong about things I didn't even mention.
Ward becoming an active fighter again bears no relevance to the post I submitted, as I merely quoted the words of Golovkin and Loeffler... and they didn't even discuss Andre's hiatus.
In terms of your second point... please refrain from using vague and non-committal words like "may" and making assumptions. Roc Nation have not commenced negotiations for a fight, so you point is irrelevant until the fight becomes a reality.
There is no "nice" offer... and one has not been discussed.
Simply put: the points raised by GGG and Loeffler are still relevant.
Ward & Golovkin won't be sharing the ring anytime soon!
Until you can convince me that the fight is imminent, which we both know it isn't, then stop being needlessly argumentative!
You said nothing has changed, obviously a lot has. For one, Ward is able to fight and has money behind him. GGG also has more money and backing behind him.

The only reasons why that fight hasn't happened were
- Ward's legal troubles
- Insufficient money on the table from both sides
Both fighters would take a big risk if they face each other, so they need to be offered significantly higher purses than for facing Rodriguezes and Rubios.
Here is the latest interview of Abel Sanchez confirming that the fight "needs to make sense" (financially):

It's on the cards, how both boxers take their careers in the next 18 months max will show a willingness to make it a Superfight.

First off, the onus is on Golovkin to go up to SMW & beat a path to Ward's door.
Ward can't be accused of ever ducking Golovkin if GGG never took the step up into his weight class.
The SMW division has been smoking hot for more than half a dozen years now & you have to wonder why Golovkin never thought it would be more lucrative up there for him, rather than stay at MW, where the options weren't as spectacular.

Because there are also big money fights at 154lb and GGG isn't a big middleweight. If he put on muscle and established himself as a permanent super middleweight, he probably wouldn't be able to make 154lb again. I agree that 168lb makes sense in the future, but he want to achieve all he can at middleweight and possibly light middleweight first.
