Andrzej Fonfara legit?

In his first 14 fights... he had a record of 12-2, with 3 KOs. Thats a stunning KO-Ratio of 21,4%! Then, in 2009, he got busted for steroids & then started a rally of 10 KO's, in 10 fights. From 2012 on, he fought the likes of Glen Johnson, Gabriel Campillo, Adonis Stevenson & Chavez Jr. He had 7 fights, and 4 stoppages. He took 12 rounds of punishment from Stevenson & floored him. Now he stopped Chavez Jr.
Is it weird or not? Something smells bad...
TL:DR:
2006-2009: 14 fights, 3 KO's, against low opposition = 21,4% KO-Ratio.
2009: Got busted for steroid use.
2009-2015: 17 fights, 14 KO's, against well known boxers = 82,4% KO-Ratio.

He has moved up in weight and is no longer weight drained like he was earlier in his career. He has also matured. In November 2009 he turned 21. Many boxers don't develop their full strength and power until they are at least 25.

Sure, but its still strange that all this happened, after he got CAUGHT with steroids. Usually people knock everything out early, until they face better opponents, but with Fonfara its been the opposite. I would accuse him of something if it just went that way, but all this happened after he took his medicine.

My guess is that Fonfara has been drug tested by the Commission numerous times since 2009 and there aren't any reports of additional positive drug tests. Random drug tests like what is done with the Olympic sports is better at catching users but it clearly isn't unheard of for the Commission tests to catch people. The list of boxers testing positive for banned substances is fairly high so it does happen.

Maybe the drugs were having a negative effect, don't really know how these things work but like too much gym work can be a disadvantage, so too can steroids maybe, but that's just an opinion based on little knowledge

The steroids by themselves won't make anybody a knock out machine or standout boxer.
Even with the drugs you still have to do everything else right to be successful.
The steroids won't eliminate the negative effects of starving yourself to make weight.
The drugs are an enhancement not a shortcut.
Could it actually be that he learned his lesson and is now more dedicated to training, fights at a more comfortable weight and stopped juicing for fear of being caught again?

I don't think there's anything crooked with this guy, he is a technically sound fighter and he trains well, so when an opportunity (a mistake) is made by his opponent he will capitalize on it and do what any fighter will do which is to take him out.
Fonfara gave Stevenson a good scrap and I applaud him for calling out him again for a rematch, this shows his confidence and his capabilities, he knows the mistakes he made and he knows he can capitalize on them.
Nothing in that bout with JCC says to me that he is on something, it's funny how nothing supposedly suspicious was being said of him when he lost to Superman but now all of a sudden he gives Chavez Jr the beating of a lifetime and he's all of a sudden "suspect"!!
I call him totally legit in my book!!

And this only gets called into question after he beats the living piss out of somebody 2 weightclasses out of his possible "prime" fighting weight.
he survived at middle by being a bigger, more physically imposing guy with decent fundamentals.
at LHW he loses the physicallity , and keeps the decent at best skillset. Guy has nothing to offer but a name outside of 160.... i think anybody with a semi decent punch at 168 would do this also.
