Nice job...you've always had the mag, now you've got the URL to go with it.

My copy of the magazine was waiting for me when I got home.

Have only skimmed through it, but really enjoyed Billy's column about Khan & Brook. Must admit I would have put money on at least one comparison to the Hatton & Witter situation, but was pleased to be proved wrong.

Oh yeah, and when I noticed a 4 page spread on Bill Richmond, I very nearly dropped the mag & squealed excitedly like a little girl

We've earmarked Witter for a standalone piece, mate.

That's cool. Just to be clear, I wasn't trying to slag off Witter or anything, was just trying to say I was pleased the column wasn't predictable reading

Under trying circumstances I think the crew, new & old have done a fantastic job continuing and developing Boxing Monthly and this is another great move imo.

I have to confess it had been a while since I'd been on the site - as an overseas subscriber I didn't see much need to visit it once the forum closed, I was delighted to read T.M.Ks piece where he mentioned several remnants of the board, many of whom are also on here, sad to say the news of BC Bobs passing was new to me.

When Glyn died my subscription which was at 15 years and continued even after I emigrated was soon coming to an end & I did consider if it was a smart investment to renew, I'm delighted to say it was, and the mag & website will hopefully flourish for many more years.

Great to see Mark Butcher back. He used to be assistant editor I believe at Boxing News years back.

I always like his writing.

This is Mark Butcher. Thanks for all the kind comments. We're looking to create something different, a complement to the magazine. I was the Founding Editor of SecondsOut.com way back in 2000 (could tell you a few barely believable stories) and it's given me a view of what not to do on the internet. You won't fight any cut and pasted press releases or plagiarised news on the revamped site. Focus will be on features/interviews (original, archive and extended versions from the mag), video content and well known columnists from the boxing world. Always open to suggestions and happy to answer questions (at either @BoxingMonthlyEd or @KOwriting). Everyone at BM really appreciates the support for the magazine. Graham Houston has done a phenomenal job in trying circumstances and I think Glyn would be proud of where we are now.

Yep. I saw him on a door in Tel Aviv a while back. A lazy (but nice) guy who could have gone a bit further in the sport than he did.

Nice work and credit where credit is due, Mark Butcher is excellent in my opinion. Thought he also came across really well on Ringside a few weeks back.

Thanks mate. Too kind. The Macao scene is my specialty. Amazing place. Back in July though Amnat vs Casimero in Bangkok in June is very tempting.

As for poetry, my definition of a slow week for letters in Boxing News in the 1970s and 1980s was when some appalling poem would be printed on the letters page. Criteria seemed to be that it didn't scan and involved going on about fighters being warriors. But if you do have a poetry corner, Terry, I promise to contribute a limerick and a haiku, both of which will be appalling, as long as I can do so under a pen name.

That's true. His reviews sometime go past scathing to being just cruel, such as in the April issue.

We've actually got a published, very talented poet on the team already. It could be a goer.
