In Gateshead tonight a truly shocking card!!!! Two 4 rounders and a 6!!!! On the plus side the hugely overrated and self loving Lewis Scott got turned over.
Interesting insight. What kind of a cut do you they give you per ticket sold?REEVE wrote:I got offered to fight on this promoters show but it's 50 tickets before u make 1p, id only do 70 so that would be £600 (before trainer, manager and any other costs come off) add that to the fact the "opponents" I was offered where a few weight classes above I had to say no / fighting naturally much bigger lads for 1/2 the money you'd get on the road just didn't appeal at all
U sell 50 tickets @ £35 each that covers your opponent and promoters wage, any tickets u sell after that u get to keep - it's been known for lads to box for nothing a fair few times, I understand about ticket deals but I think it's criminal that fighters have to do this, imagine footballers covering there own wage in ticket sales!Dixonian wrote:Interesting insight. Yeah it'll be nice if the promoter could sell a few. I'm a big boxing fan and sometimes I don't even know when there's a boxing show down my way. One pro boxer told me that he was walking up and down the main nightlife hotspots trying to sell tickets to drunkards the night before a fight. He was working full time, training like crazy and working as his own promoter.REEVE wrote:U sell 50 tickets @ £35 each that covers your opponent and promoters wage, any tickets u sell after that u get to keep - it's been known for lads to box for nothing a fair few times, I understand about ticket deals but I think it's criminal that fighters have to do this, imagine footballers covering there own wage in ticket sales!Dixonian wrote:Interesting insight. What's the story with this kid? I heard him getting hyped by a lot of people around here for quite a while so was expecting some decent things, but suddenly he's lost his last two including this latest one to a journeyman. Never seen him box before so I can't comment.Hagler2002 wrote:In Gateshead tonight a truly shocking card!!!! Two 4 rounders and a 6!!!!
