and people point the fights looking at them. For example, round 3 for compubox is 15-5 Mayweather. I watched it in slow motion and the real is 6-4 Pacquiao. Roud 7 is 8-5 Pacquiao, Round 8 5-4 Mayweather. Look the round and count the punches, repeat if you have doubts and you will have the same results I have.
Round 1 5-1 Mayweather
Round 2 4-3 Mayweather
Round 3 6-4 Pacquiao
Round 4 11-6 Pacquiao
Round 5 6-2 Mayweather
Round 6 7-7 even
Round 7 8-5 Pacquiao
Round 8 5-4 Mayweather
Round 9 9-6 Pacquiao
Round 10 5-4 Pacquiao
Round 11 15-4 Mayweather
Round 12 5-2 Mayweather
Total 72-62 Mayweather

While I think that Floyd consistently landed more blows I also find some of the CompuBox numbers suspect in that I don't think Floyd's connect advantage was as large as given, and it's important to remember that punch stats are simply the opinions of error-prone humans and have clearly been incorrect before (see round one of Kirkland-Angulo for an egregious example).

I didn't believe those numbers when I saw them. But it is humans doing it in real time though so can't expect it to be spot on

The sour grapes are actually poisonous on this forum that the idiot (Jean Claude Van Damme) claims Al Haymon owns towards this EASY victory by Floyd over Manny.
You people really are pathetic.

That leaves me asking "why do it in real time?" (why not put the numbers out 24 hours later after going through the fight in slow motion for an accurate count) and "why do the commentary and broadcast teams talk about compubox as if it's a hard science and clear fact?" (not hard to suggest "these are only estimates, but the best estimates we have")
I wouldn't say compubox is "fake" just "inaccurate" and "misleading".
Another issue with "raw" punch numbers is they don't have context. Out landing someone by 40 punches doesn't mean you win or lose the fight. It could simply be that you won your round(s) clearer than your opponent. It could mean you started fast and tired early, it could mean that you won the later rounds when your opponent went on cruise control, it could mean any number of different things.
I like the concept of compubox but I don't like how it's done in practice.

I'm sure that either the visually-impaired or those poor members of society, formerly known as Pactards, who suffer from post-Mayweather deeply distressed and saddened disorder, would almost certainly agree with your insanely irrational and utterly deluded recollection of events!
As the OP scored in favour of Mayweather overall, I don't see how he could be considered utterly deluded. Mistaken perhaps, but he gave the fight to the same boxer as the three judges and just about every other observer. I'm not sure why he should be called insanely irrational, either. BTW, does that mean it's possible to be sanely irrational?

'Compubox' is a guy with a tally clicker in each hand. Not fake but fallible.

Good that someone is pointing this out.

Yes.
And on Saturday night, that person was obviously someone heavily biased in favor of Floyd, someone like KBB here.

I suggest people use the stats to make a point after the fight, unfortunately the point they are making is backed up by data that is wholly inaccurate.
Also the "hit and don't hit" logic suggests that people do score by compubox style logic a lot.

The funny thing about compubox is the guys complaining about these numbers will use compubox
the next time their favorite fighter wins controversially.
The numbers are good when they fit your needs.

Hmmm, I don't remember this much backlash about Compubox numbers after Pacquiao-Marquez 3, especially from the fan base that currently seems to be most peeved about the system's accuracy.

Exactly my point. Compubox is great when it fits your needs.
When your favorite loses it is then a flawed system.

The OP didn't state anything about the outcome being wrong, simply that the punch stats were wrong. I watched the fight and no way did it look like Mayweather out landed Pacquiao by over 60 punches. Did Mayweather win the fight, YES. Did Floyd out land Manny by over 60 punches, NO!
