Haymon may have played a blinder here IMO. With talk of Floyd giving up the belts and Khan already being a silver thingy WBC holder my money is the Algeri fight being made for the vacant WBC (which also kind of defuses Broks argument of being a legit belt holder)

There's nobody else in the Welterwieght division which PPV wise will satisfy the criteria - Thurman not yet, Porter no, Garcia if he moves up not yet. if Khan smashes through Algeri in entertaining fashion the clamour will be on for the fight.

I think Mayweather has two fights left, khan and Garcia then his out, as long as khan don't lose his one of two

I'm not really convinced Khan will ever get the Mayweather fight. I just get the feeling its not really a fight Floyd fancies. The obvious time to make the fight was instead of the Maidana fight but they couldn't make it happen. I feel like they'll go with Garcia next and I think Garcia will jump at the fight now.

Am fed up reading about Khan and mayweather.... Besides which he will be unable to fight in September because of Ramadan!

What does khan offer mayweather? Nothing in my book so its not going to happen.

Khan has been wiped out twice and beat once by good, not great, opposition. He has one decent win at welter and one good win.

Steve Bunce said on his podcast he thinks it will be Danny Garcia next, then once his showtime deal is over, he will put his own show on to take him to 50-0 against Miguel Cotto.

Makes sense to me.

Not a bad way to finish. I'm sure Khan would have complaints about a champion who knocked him out getting ahead of him in the queue.

I don't see what Floyd has to gain from fighting Khan.
If Khan wins Floyd lost to a guy that has been beaten 3 times and knocked out twice.
If he wins he beat a china chinned fighter.
It is a lose lose proposition for Floyd.It is just something for people to complain about.

Garcia fight would be an horrendous mismatch for Floyd.

He's looked very mediocre for a few years. He did well against Mathysse and he also pulled out the punch to halt Khan.

But Floyd would tattoo him.

& that--the stylistic factor rendering him an easier match-up for Mayweather than vs Khan--& Garcia's relationship with PBC, is why he will get the call, imo.

I'm a fan of the Mayweather/Garcia fight, if only because it means we'll get Papa Mayweather v Papa Garcia in the build up.

It wouldn't be more impressive to me than if he beat Cotto again with no title being contested, though I have little doubt that many people will eat up the 'Floyd once fought at 129 now he's da man at MW, omgzz he's amazing!' nonsense. Garcia then Cotto if the latter is still the 'champ' seems like a likely end to Floyd's career in my opinion, which has been very impressive because of who he fought and how he fought, not what titles he won.

Garcia would be piece of piss for Mayweather, he might even get a stoppage to finish his career on.

I'd like to see floyd fight Khan at Wembly, but I'm also in the minority that would like to see Him rematch Manny. Rematch in Manila would be epic

Floyd fighting Cotto will happen at a low catch weight either at 155 or 156 for the middleweight belt, once its above 154 and below 161, it can be for the middleweight belt. I think it will happen and didn't Cotto actually do well in the later rounds against Floyd anyway?

They were happy to take a small fraction of the purse to take that fight. Khan sees himself as an a-sider and will want more due to the uk ppv. However, mayweather is a bigger draw in this country than khan

He won't fight Cotto since he signed with Rocnation. Jay Z and Haymon hate each other since Jay Z cut Haymon out of some Beyonce deal years ago
