Just read Channel 5 have got the rights to the football league highlights show (match of the day for Championship down) and are going to be showing it at 9pm Saturday nights (finishing at 10.30).

Where does this leave boxing? I'd guess any show is likely to start after 10.30pm and therefore not be on very long.

Either on afterwards, or only during the summer months.

I expect your right, shame it seemed like they were getting more interested and was hoping for some longer cards (8-9pm starts etc).

Main event at 1030 after the football finishes would be just right but C5 aren't going to have boxing on much anyway

I would say that is a big blow to the hopes of more boxing being on Channel 5.

They'll move boxing over to Spike along with BAMMA and Bellator. Saturday night is fight night on Spike, accordinging to their posts on Facebook.

Oh yeah forgot about that, hoping that virgin hurry up and get that. Also hoping Spike UK get the odd PBC card thats on Spike in the US

It's mental Virgin don't have a deal agreed for Spike yet. Seems to take them ages to launch new channels. PBC on Spike UK would be the business.

Can I not get this Spike TV then? Not checked. For some reason I thought it was a free view channel.

Shame if they moved boxing off Channel 5 completely.

Friday Fight Nights would solve the issue pretty easily...
