Loads of fighters have fought with injuries. If they didn't disclose this on such a form prior to the bout out of worry that their fight would be canceled and/or their opponents would be find out about their weakness should they all face jail time, large fines, and sizeable suspensions too? And how much time and money would this cost and would it be positive for the sport if things like this were constantly being reported?

I also have little doubt that some of the people in this thread would be accusing Pacquiao of ducking if he had disclosed the injury and the fight was thereby canceled or postponed, or at least scream "excuse!" if the fight wasn't canceled but word got out about the injury ahead of time.

What if a fighter develops depression before a fight, it hampers their preparation, and they don't inform anyone of that until later? Sue them too since it could've impacted the outcome? What if losing a close relative has the same impact on another fighter and this is only discovered by bettors after the bout? How about a pre-fight loss of motivation? How about acting much more confident in the public build-up to a fight than they really were? Are all these instances of misrepresentation that hurt certain bettors?

Since a major portion of betting is over/under, should a fighter also be sued if they didn't beat their opponent as quickly as expected and they waited until after the fight to reveal an injury that could help explain why they didn't win earlier? Related to that, how about if a fighter who typically stops their opponents early decides ahead of time that they're going to try to get rounds in, but only admit this post-fight when bettors who expected them to be more aggressive have lost out?

And how far back should the legal action go? Should fighters who haven't competed for 30 years be sued if they didn't disclose this type of info until after a fight? Would a surge in this type of litigation help the sport?

To be fair, Pacquiao has brought this on himself going on the evidence out there at the minute.

He stated that he had a shoulder injury but allegedly never declared it on a legal document. It doesn't really matter if this is really a fair way to declare injuries as it could provide information to the opponent, it is legally required.

If he had have accepted his defeat like a man, he wouldn't be in this position.
