Eurosport are showing Shinsuke Yamanaka vs. Diego Santillan for the WBC Bantamweight title this coming Tuesday from 7pm. The fight actually took place about 3 weeks ago however it's not often we get to see Japanese cards in the UK, even on a delayed broadcast basis. Thought I'd share for those who are interested.

Yay, the God of Left! Best Bantamweight on the planet right now and one of his better showings of recent years.

A weird one but there are solid cards in Japan which really should be picked up by BN the cards on NYE were really good.

I have always said that. There is plenty of quality stuff coming from that part of the world. I suppose the downside is the time that are on will mean the viewing figures will be low But I know that a lot of people like myself would tape & watch.

Think it's is early morning is 8am-10am someone may have a better idea . Do remember watching Rendall Munroes world title fight live on a Sunday morning with my cereal :bag:

The recent Uchiyama Vs Jomthong bout was screen at 1PM UK time on Japanese TV but was screened about 90min earlier on Thai TV (yes, it was LIVE in Thailand but not in Japan) with the Taguchi fight being aired live on a different Thai channel.

So I'd assume that showing same day tape delay in the UK wouldn't be any worse than showing repeats of whatever it is allegedly show repeats of anyway

Good point. When Rendall Munroe went to Japan back in 2010 to face Toshiaki Nishioka, SKY showed the fight live. I'm sure it started at 11:30am. I don't see any reason why B0xnati0n couldn't show Japanese fights, tape delayed on either a Sunday or Monday night.

It was on the SKY EPG a couple of days ago, and the Eurosport UK website, but the fight is now gone :witzend:

I remember that. Against Nishioka. It was the same day as an Old Firm game and my living room was full from about 9am! By 3pm not a lot of sense was being made by anyone!

Suppose it just depends on how much they're being charged to show them live and whether they think the target market would watch it regularly enough. Same applies to the taped shows

Personally, sunday morning/afternoon live fights are no good and i wouldn't go out of my way to watch a Japanese fight in all honesty as i've got no connections to any fighter at the minute. Stick a Brit out there against one and i would.
