im not techy...so i was just wondering what the deal is with the speed that videos play at on youtube?

the reason i ask is that i was watching hag v hearns last night and had to really shop around to find footage that wasn't way too fast.

greatest fight of time..but speed is crucial here for a proper appreciation.

It'll be something in the encoding from VHS - digital - youtube.

Often "old" videos have come via a really circuitous route and you might be watching something on youtube which has been encoded, decoded and re-encoded multiple times - I saw something which had been converted from VHS - digital - encoded to dvd - ripped back to digital and it looked terrible. Likewise with something that's been encoded to DVD from avi, it was horrendous - all pixelated and jerky.

You can change the playback speed on youtube in half increments, if that helps.

It's partly why I can't watch old boxing stuff on youtube.
