Great fight and VERY WELL DONE Jamie. Genuinely career defining performance. Had Tomoki winning by a point but there was 6 or 7 swing rounds and with out a doubt Jamie won it in the final few rounds whilst Tomoki was a fornicating imbecile.

McDonnell vs Yamanaka now to decide the divisional #1 would be great, something we were never going to get if Tomoki won.

I've not watched it yet but I'm pleased for Jamie - he's got some bottle and he was up against s very good fighter - well done Jamie

More a response to you saying he was still world champion. Well done to McDonnell for winning, from the sounds of things he was a bit lucky, to be honest I don't really give a shit either way.

I missed the early rounds. Know the US commentators thought it was close and obviously with the KD wouldn't be surprised if I watch it back and score it 115-112 to Kameda, but you make your own luck sometimes and no doubt it was close and McDonnell did well late on.

Fight didn't need a belt, and I mean if he'd fought Payano tonight and won the line would be about how Payano is actually rated quite low if you take titles away and rank off of victories, whereas Komeda was undoubtedly top 4-5.

top stuff it was a cracking fight,most watchable Mcdonells been since the Ceja fight.i missed the first 3 rounds so never scored it but competitive as it comes through the rest of the fight.think mcdonell needs that level of fighter to bring the best of him out.well done to him

I thought Kameda edged it to be honest .... but it was close and I can accept the scorecards.

Good fight, could have gone either way, particularly with the knockdown.

In all honesty I really don't give a shit about McDonnell, just doesn't interest me as a fighter. Some of Hearn's fighters I like, some I don't, usually those that Sky heavily overhype, most of them are overrated and highly protected, so they'll get shit for it.

Yamanaka would be a step too far, I can't see Eddie going for it. I'm sure Jamie would take the fight if a Decent offer was made though.

Had it 114-113 McDonnell too and it was well deserved,he done excellent to get up from that right hand from Kameda,Jamie's slow start nearly cost him but I had him sweeping 7 of the last 8 rounds but superb stuff,I had a feeling he had a real chance and you can never count that guy out

Japenses world champs aren't known for travelling and seem have good money behind them at home so can't see it. They could offer McDonnell good money themselves though would depend on if last nights fight had any coverage over there.
