How does Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Save Career?

JCCJR only has one way to erase the possible career ending debacle that happened a few weeks ago. He'll never fill another arena on his own after getting demolished by Fonfara and quitting on live TV in front of millions of people. You can't be a quitter & a beloved Mexican fighter...those are 2 opposing characteristics (Fonfara is no joke but still, quitting is a cardinal sin especially for Mexicans).

If I'm Julio Cesar Chavez Jr this morning, I take my last chug off my bong and take one last dip in the pool with my overly tight underwear. Then I pick up the phone and take whatever money they will give me to fight GGG next. IMO, that is the easiest and fastest way this kid can revitalize his fan base and career.

I still think that a GGG/Chavez JR fight in LA has great appeal and would sell out at this point. Junior will most likely get knocked out again but it could be a second (or last) chance to show his former fans that he's got heart. Maybe he even gives GGG a good fight and lasts 12 rounds? Who knows? But with a spirited performance vs GGG, even in a loss, I feel he can win back a lot of fans and could save his career.

Or is Jr's career beyond saving at this point? What do you think?

i doubt abraham would fight jr, but if jr actually woke up after that embarrassment
(which goosen must also be humiliated by) and trained his ass off i think he might be
competitive against abraham. i'm not sure dirrel makes it past degale, but if he does,
then i think jr could maybe be competitive with him, definitely more competitive against
abraham and dirrell than GGG, who is much more aggressive with a much higher work
rate. jr might still be able to muscle those guys around a little and take their punches
and land some shots and if wound up with another title, defend it against fringe guys
for a while to get in line for another big $ fight. the one reason why i think abraham or
dirrell would consider fighting jr is that if jr had a ko win over a fringe contender at 168
he might still be more of a draw than anyone else they could fight for the same money,
the old risk vs reward thing, and after the fonfara fight jr may look very vulnerable
to them.

If Jr couldn't really land anything good on Fonfara, how would he be able to land on Andre Dirrell who is a better boxer ? I doubt that Andre would stop Chavez, but he would likely get a wide decision.

Regarding Abraham, I think even Chavez from the Fonfara fight would be competitive against him.

Having been humiliated by GGG would certainly not help Junior's career.

jr looked like garbage against fonfara, but he looked out of shape with no size advantage and
of course outskilled. dirrel is definitely more skilled than jr, but i honestly don't see this version
of dirrell as skilled as you think he is and i honestly wouldn't be surprised if he loses to degale
and i don't think he showed hall of fame skills or work rate against bika, especially in the first fight.
the thing is, if the version of dirrell we have seen recently shows up against an in-shape jr, the
difference between that and the fonfara fight is that i did see chavez land a few shots on fonfara
and i don't see dirrell knocking around jr as easily as fonfara, so jr could pressure more. i didn't
say jr could beat dirrell, but he has a much better chance of being competitive with dirrell than
with GGG, which i would put as 0% and not even a fight that people would show up to see.
maybe they could have made that fight before fonfara, but jr needs to at least be competitive
in a title fight to be relevant again.

Ah, we are talking about different Dirrells. I explicitly mentioned Andre.

He can't. He sucks. No dedication and just doesn't want it. Face-first fighter with absolutely no defense.
