Oscar wants this fight and so does Matthysse.
Arum says not happening
I really believe if this fight happened Lucas would stop Manny brutally.

Bob is not about to feed his cash cow or future cash cow to Golden Boy. No Pacquiao and no Crawford. But he will give him Rios. Bob isn't about to let Oscar build a fighter off his stars. He'll let Matthysse beat up on Rios. Rios doesn't have much of a future and this fight will net Bob a few dollars.

Pacquiao vs Anybody isn't happening right now. Open your eyes. Pacquiao is taking off a year, minimum.

No one said at this moment we all know Manny will take a while off but i highly doubt it would be a year.

Nice fantasy. More likely that Arum cashes Pac out v The Hitman Jr.

Matthysse stops Pacquiao? I like Matthysse but he's not at that level. He would get his ears boxed off. Would be an entertaining bout though.

I won't be surprised at all if Pacman never fights again - I think they will angle for a rematch with Mayweather, and if that doesn't happen, I won't be surprised if Pacquaio retires citing injuries. Either that or maybe one last fight in the Phillipines against someone hand picked.
No way are they putting him in with someone like Matthyse at this stage of his career.

News Flash! Matthyse is no longer regrded as the monster so many of you thought he was until he was badly schooled by Danny Garcia.
What's he done that's been so spectacular since? Get dropped by mechanical John Molina in a back-and forth slugfest. Have a life and death outing with "No-D" Provodnikov, a bout which very well could have gone to the Russian.
Even a Manny Pacquiuao at 70% would still have a field day with the slow footed Argentine. The scorecards wouldn't even be close.
If a bout with Matthysse can be made, Arum should grab it. Pac would have had to really regress for him to be troubled by LM.

Matthysse is a great all action fan friendly fighter. I don't think he would be competitive with Pacquiao but i'd love to see the fight. Pacman's been dealing with runners like Floyd, Algeiri & Bradley for a while now, he's not got long left so give him some entertaining fights.

Manny would beat Mathysse badly. Some people get too swayed by one event. He's still on another level to those guys.

Whens the last time Pac faced a decent puncher?
It was Marquez and lucas may not have the skills of jmm but he sure can crack alot harder.
There is a reason arum wont put Manny in with Matthysse and thats because he fears lucas would work Manny over brutally.
I feel like ARUM believes Manny cant fight like he use to the hunger is long gone.
Matthysse would hurt Manny badly.

That's my point - no way are they going to put him in with anyone who is a massive puncher. I agree that the Hunger and drive doesn't seem to be there and if that's the case, he should retire really. He's had a great career, and there's nothing left to prove - one more crack at Marquez - or a fight with Mayweather, he simply cannot win....

When that BS artist Arum was asked he immediately replied No, why? Because he fears for Manny getting put to sleep like he did vs JMM.
Great job Bob, way to keep your boy safe or ducking whichever or both.

Manny would destroy Mattysse. Paccqiao is superior in ever aspect of boxing other than maybe punching power. Mattysse has a punchers chance at best, but Mattysse is quite a bit more skilled than Rios, so who knows if he could catch Manny or not. Not a risk Arum is willing to take with Pacquiao and for good reason, even though I think Pacquiao would more than likely work over Mattysse rather easily unless he got caught early.

When did Mathysse become a 140 pound Tommy Hearns anyway? There's this weird mythology built up around him now.
As to the rest of your statement, I don't think a guy who is done beats Bradley. Hell, I don't think a guy who is done beats Rios and Algieri. As I said, one event is clouding people's judgement a bit in my view.

Manny has looked like shiit to me his last few fights not just the Floyd fight.
And again why is his own promoter not intrested in even talking about Matthysse.
Ill tell you why cuz arum knows Lucas is no fuucking Algieri he can hurt Manny badly.
You seem to have a lot more Faith in Manny than his own promoter does.

Is the Matthysse who's going to "hurt Manny badly" the same Matthysse that I saw hit guys like Garcia and "No-D" Provodnikov, and couldn't even move them?
And those two weren't even welterweights. He had all he could handle in bloated lightweight John Molina. Molina seemed more worried about Broner's power than that offered by LM.
So this smaller, overrated Argentine is somehow going to move up and pound out a fighter who's still 98% better than the rest of the guys on the planet?
Unlike Provo and Molina, Pacquiao still maintains some defensive ability. If Matthyse could actually find Pac during the course of 12 rounds, it would be a semi-miracle.
Don't let the Mayweather fight blind you. Pacquiao lost to the best fighter of this generation. Matthysse isn't even the best fighter in the jr. welter division, of this or any other generation..

Matthysse can punch. Provo said he was the hardest puncher. Manny would get KO'd.

Its hilarious how badly your trying to downplay Matthysse's power your really grasping huh.
Man Danny is fuucking undefeated despite close fights he still the champ quit trying to make him sound like a chump.
Oh and Matthysse did move Provodnikov who arguably has the best chin in boxing today. Matthysse was shaking him up especially in that 6rd.
Matthysse is a proven hitter and just like he banged up Provo he can do the same to a Manny who is slipping.

With Provo's stamina and never quit style, I would even pick him over Manny at this point. Manny is a better boxer than Provo, but then again who isn't? Provo vs Rios...now there are two crude guys that would beat each other's brains in.
Make no mistake, Matthysse's power is real, and proven. Ask any guy he has fought. Garcia's hugging and tying up saved him. Notice he wants nothing to do with Lucas as far as a rematch. He has good boxing skills as well. Manny is not hard to hit as we have seen too. Arum would be smart to not let that fight go down. I might be wrong, but have always considered Matthysse a more skilled but smaller version of Maidana.

There's a fair bit of nuance between "looking like shiit", and beating world class fighters in m view.
It's not really about faith in Manny, honestly. I just don't think as highly as some do of Mathysse. Sure Lucas could hurt him. Rios could have too. But he could barely even dare to let his hands go to touch him.
Before anyone gets too worked up, I know Mathysse is not Rios. But he sure as hell isn't Bradley and Mayweather, either.

Like you just said Matthysse isn't Rios he's a helluva a lot more skilled than Rios.
And let's not forget Bradley just drew or barely scraped by(however you wanna view it) with Chaves who is no where near the fighter Lucas is.
Trust me Matthysse won't have any problem letting his hands go.

Bradley beat Cháves pretty comfortably, blind judges or not. And I would argue Chávez is on a comparable level. Again, when did Mathysse become this unstoppable machine?

Chavez is on a comparable level?
Oh cmon who has chavez beaten?
No one whatsoever.
Matthysse has stoppage wins over proven guys like Peterson who he blasted, Soto still the only guy to put him away, Provo of course. And i wont even get into the Judah and Alexander Robberies we been there done that.
Please dont make shiit up saying chavez is comparable to Matthysse just to try and strengthen your argument.
And no one is saying Lucas is some unstoppable machine but neither is Manny not anymore. Lucas power and underrated skills can equal a nightmare for Manny now and Mannys own promoter seems to think the same thats why he wants no part of Lucas for Manny.
