I used to go & watch Barrett a lot back in day.

Exciting fighter with great power.

It's good that he's sorted himself out & is keeping a foothold in the game.

Pat produced one of the greatest ko's i have ever seen against Calamati in Italy,absolutely flattened the poor fella

I enjoyed his career and his losses were to pretty good fighters. Retired quite early though-did he have an injury? I still felt he could have gone on to do more really.

When i first saw the title i misread it and thought it was the bloke who shot billy the kid.

My mate Darren Rhodes ex pro introduced me to Pat few years ago. I had followed his career so was aware of what he had achieved. I was expecting him to be up his arse but whst a nice fella he was actually interested in the bout I was taking at the time. Even though I where a journeyman.

It took 5 years to get his trainers licence ? - why was that ? (his criminal record ?).

I still don't like his nephews nickname though - the Black Flash sounds great, but the Brown Flash sounds (literally like) shit !

is it true he taught Ricky Hatton to throw the left hook to the body? sure i read that somewhere, probably one of your pieces if so, Tel... ?

Loved watching Barrett as a young un,exciting fighter.. see a recent pic of him with Maurice Core & Ensley Bingham,he looks huge compared to them&i don't mean fat...

I'm sure I read that Pat dropped Ricky hard with a body hook when he was European champ and Hatton was a teenage amateur.

I watched that fight again today,Calamati was in bad shape and out for 7 minutes.His corner men were desperately trying to remove his mouthpiece but he kept biting them.

Terry- thanks, thought I had picked it up from one of your piece's.

Darren Rhodes is doing really well he works at the Hunslet club full time. The club plays a massive part to society within the area. Boxing rugby football dancing as well as looking after the kids that have been expelled. Rhodes trains a pro Terry broadbent. He traind me for 3 yrs as a pro introduced me to collyhurst gym in Manchester. Daz was a very skilful well schooled boxer. He looked like Robin Reid body wise ripped. Great lad Daz and trainer very honest straight up person

I still see Daz on the circuit all the tine. Very accomplished boxer. Pat looks massive, too. Been hammering the weights.
