It's Halloween & Something Nasty Is Gonna Happen

October 31st 1992 & two of the top four heavyweights (not banged up) were about to meet in the ring in London. The general consensus was Ruddock by kayo or Lewis on points. Lennox, who was 21-0 has put in measured but not explosive performances thus far. Ruddock (27-3) had gone through wars with Mike Tyson.
The fight just blew me away...
Two weeks later Evander Holyfield defended his title against big Riddick Bowe, 33-0, with the winner to defend against Lewis. In one of the greatest heavyweight fights I saw 'live', Bowe proved he had heart to win the decision.
And that set up what should have been a momentous battle.
To this day I still don't get what Bowe (or more likely Rock Newman) were thinking.
I wonder if Newman ever reached out to Bowe when he needed help.
On a side not Billy Wright was stopped in two on the latter under card by Michael Moorer. Wright is still fighting and currently on a 14 fight knockout streak.
