According to FW.TV
Calzaghe has had a recurrance of his back complaint.
Looks like Johnson maybe fighting Jones Jr next then, without threat from the legal beagles

Funny how this coincides with Johnson's camp reiterating that they have no intention of fighting Calzaghe, suddenly Calzaghe's back gives way, despite the fact that two days ago his training camp was in full swing and he was looking 'great.'
As Jim Royle would say 'My arse.'
Calzaghe is trying to save face because they've realised that there is no way on gods earth they are going to get the fight.

LOL, so much for Frank's much feared legal team - he's had to bend over and take his punishment.
What a kick in the nuts for Sports Notwork.

Well, looks like yet another year is going to pass without a significant fight for Calzaghe, what a waste of a career, he's 32 and at his peak or maybe already past it, and what are we going to see, another meaningless WBO mandatory?
This is really getting on my tits, Calzaghe has talent, but I fear we will never see it stretched to it's full capacity.

Just proves what a shower of asre holes spunks nobsworks are, massive fight for a real title and calzaghe fuckin a bit of skirt, real shame though, I think they will freeze him out of the light heavies now, he'll have to try to make fights in the super middle division which aint going to be easy

, fuckin muppets

Well all I can say is he better damn well end up facing Erdei. You know the WBO will make Calzaghe mandatory without even thinking about it. There's absolutely no excuse.

they didnt go for that probably because he is german based and didnt want to risk him going to Germany.

They didn't step up to face Michalszewski and look what happened there - a golden oppurtunity wasted.
I suppose there's Danny Green, Kessler and Lacy at 168 but I'd rather see him move up.

Wouldnt mind seeing him go back down to SMW for a fight with robert Allen, or maybe start bad mouthing hopkins for a fight at a catch weight.
More than likely have a second rate russian in the pipeline.

He's been killing himself to make 168, and if he's decided to go up, making the weight is going to be even harder. I'd like to see him stay at 175, go over to Germany and knock seven bells out of Erdei. However, I also think there's a decent argument which says that Calzaghe at 175 without a belt will be in better fights that Calzaghe at 175 with a WBO belt.

hmm. Why would they make this up? Seeriously,. according to fightnews, it was in the contract that if either fighter gets injured, the fight must happen within 90 days or something. If Calzaghe remained fit, then surely Frank could cash-in?

what galls me more than anything is that no-one is allowed to express an opinion for fear of litigation yet these peopLe insist on bullshittting time and time again.
WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOX.
I have no issue with things going wrong, not to plan & subsequent issues being raised, but I do not like being taken for a muppet.
and yes I have had a beer

aaah bollox its all a load of crap its getting on my cock end.
Why dont they just come clean I would have so much respect for that.
Say Joe has had some difficulties in his private life, that he wasnt mentally prepared for such a big title shot with all the grief gpoing on . Any human being would understand that.
Not make up some shit aobut a re-occuring back injury that suddenly sprung up the day after he comes back form training camp and Enzo has stated he is raring to go thren all of a sudden when the GJ camp say bollox he is injured...you must admit it looks a bit fishy.
However if I could see doctors certs I humbly eat my words and apologise.
I dont have any problem with SN or Mr Warren but I fuckin hate being bullshitted.

yeah i kniw what you mean. Just cos he can fool 15,000 mancs with any opponent for Ricky and claim that he's a 'test' doesn't mean he can fool us all! I'd fully understand if they just admitted it was personal problems.

According to fightnews, yes, but who was claiming it was in the contract. It may be standard practice for all I know, after all, I don't get to see too many contracts myself. However, if that were the case, then why would team Johnson tell Cazlaghe to go fornicate himself, if they knew there were a case for litigation, do you think the Goosen's are stupid?

He'd have his hands full with Erdei, a better fighter than Johnson I reckon. Think they'll steer well clear of him for awhile.

yeah, i know it doesn't make sense.
I'm so frustrated, watching Calzaghe's career slowly whimper out.

i dont soley proportion blame to the promoter in this instance though.
i think he has done damage to his own career. Not flying, not chasing Ottke hard enough blah blah blah.

Ottke would always have been hard to make, but unless Tillermann was reffing I think Calzaghe would have KOd Ottke.
If Calzaghe's career does peter out, hopefully he'll be a useful example to Hatton as to the dangers of treading water at home for too long
