• Miguel Cotto (Roc Nation/HBO vs. Haymon/Showtime)
• Gennady Golovkin (HBO vs. Haymon/Showtime)
We’re only fourteen weeks and one day away from the 12th September… and the Guerrero and Pacquiao bouts were announced 74 days and 71 days prior to their respective fight dates... and we’re quickly approaching that minimum notice period.
Therefore, I’m expecting Floyd Mayweather Jr. to announce a fight between himself and Amir Khan by the 19th June (at the very latest).

How can that happen if Khan will be still in the Ramadan period??

Khan's religion is Muslim, and they fast during that period so there's no way he will be strong enough to fight.

Ramadan is a different time every year.

Also, I'm pretty sure Khan fought Briedis Prescott during Ramadan.

This year it ends on the 17th July and allows Amir Khan to enjoy eight weeks and one day to recover, prepare and train for his proposed 12th September fight-date against Floyd Mayweather Jr, which he says himself is an acceptable period.

I haven't seen the new Ramadan calendar for this year but I know that they often differ depending on where you live and that they start at the New Moon and end with the rising of the first Crescent Moon.
If you have a calendar and know of Khan's residence can you post it?

I'm pretty sure it finishes July 17th or 18th, I live a few miles from Bolton. Ramadan roughly starts 11 days earlier every year.
I wonder if he fasted in the eight days up to the fight with Prescott?

Khan believes that eight weeks would be enough time for him to face the reigning pound for pound king if chosen as his next opponent.
"I'm not ruling out fighting in September because it's possible that it could happen," Khan said.
"Mayweather only fights in mid-September and Ramadan will be a little earlier this year, which helps. It gives me enough time to get the training done. So it can happen in September."
A total contradiction from what he stated in the link I posted. I don't like this fight for several reasons:
1. If Floyd fights him (which IMHO, he shouldn't) and wins then Khan has a ready-made excuse-he will say he was weakened from the fasting of Ramadan/it was too soon/he didn't have enough time to train properly.
2. What does Floyd gain from beating him when many people already believe Algieiri beat him? Khan has no belt/title.
3. Honestly, what has Amir done to warrant a shot ahead of others at Jr MW who would be far more deserving and have earned it like Lara?
4. I think it will be a boring fight because we saw Amir running from a feather-fisted Algieiri so we know Floyd will be chasing the Usain Bolt of Boxing the entire night and the fans will be unhappy to watch a track meet.
This fight would be a waste of Floyd's time and money, Lara, Cotto or even Canelo in a rematch are far more deserving.

I knew that but the point of it was to show how Khan flip flops from one thing to the next or statements change when he's asked a question about this match up.

Is it really worth this much effort, fellas? It doesn't matter what day this fight falls on, Amir will not pass up a sweepstakes fight with Mayweather.

It doesn't matter if any of the above guys have fights lined up already, or what network they work with. If they get the call, they would drop whoever it is to fight Floyd. Someone would pay their opponent step aside $. Like it or not, the process of elimination theory doesn't apply to Floyd.
I hope to hell its not Khan. Floyd gains absolutely nothing from that fight. People would tune in only to hope they can see Khan do the chicken dance. If Algieri had Khan hurt 3 or 4 times, Floyd can definitely do it.

The rival network & promoters political issues are massive stumbling blocks, which simply cannot be dismissed as irrelevant given the timescales involved, which rules out Cotto, Canelo & Golovkin as potential opponents for the September fight-date.
Thurman and Garcia are both with Haymon, who also works with Mayweather Jr. So if they were being seriously considered as Floyd's next opponent, then why would the PBC organise contests for these guys to face other men instead? They wouldn’t waste their time… so we have to assume that they are completely out-of-the equation.
Matchroom Sports regularly work with Haymon, so if Mayweather was seriously considering Kell Brook as his next opponent, Eddie Hearn would already know about it and would not have commenced discussions with Top Rank for a potential Brandon Rios fight in August.
Meanwhile,
we know for certain that Khan has already begun negotiations with Team Mayweather, who is a fellow Al Haymon fighter, with Amir even going so far as claiming that an announcement will be made within two weeks.
Whilst I think there are better opponents out there for Floyd, I simply cannot ignore the reality of the situation.
We know for certain? Because Khan says it is true? I will believe it when I hear it from Floyd. It really doesn't matter who the opponent is, it will sell well, billed as his last fight. Floyd can make near 1 million ppv buys fighting anyone.

Ramadan. Not eating during daylight hours and then stuffing yourself at night.
Boxing training. Minimising diet and fasting wholesale in lead up to the way in.
Does a professional boxer really need the 'discipline' of ramadan?

Ramadan is kind of silly, imo. I have read that if you are mentally retarded, you don't have to go through it. Khan definitely qualifies.

Did Floyd stopped loving money most of all ? If not, there will be a rematch with Pac.

It's quite possible, but that doesn't stop him from fighting Khan first, unless I'm missing something.
I mean Pac is out until next year by virtue of the surgery, I believe.

Floyd would handle Khan so easily it wouldn't even be funny...
If that's his last fight, well --- that's just underwhelming.
