I wasn't on the AJ hype train until the Johnson fight. I can't see anyone withstanding Joshua's power, it's just a case of if they can get to AJ first or if AJ gasses for me.

No possible way of knowing at this stage anything could happen. AJ has not beaten a real opponent yet look what happened to David Price

No, he's not seasoned enough (yet). The Johnson fight was impressive but let's not go to OTT about it.

This.

Could be who lands first but Joshua's not been hit back yet, at least we know Wilder has done 12 rounds.

Wilder would surely be favourite based on pro experience, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Joshua could beat him now.

I'm almost certain that Joshua would smash Fury right now though.

Talking about seasoning, 'seasoned' isn't exactly the word that comes to mind to describe Wilder, either.

Yes. Joshua could beat him and probably most heavyweights if they back off him.

I reckon a fair few, including price would fancy their chances until they see how he reacts to being on the back foot.

Joshua still has a few questions to be asked of him ,as already mentioned, his chin and his stamina,Price being the perfect example, I was a big believer in Price and predicted him to go onto big things but the 2 Thompson fights revealed the answer to both question

His punch resistance when taking a fairly moderate shot was worrying, the shot did land on an awkward spot which wrecked his equilibrium, but I've watched that shot plenty of times and it still doesn't look like a particularly great punch

The rematch he gassed like no man I've ever seen in a ring before, and I know he went full out for a KO but he did tire early so these are questions we need to see asked

I've no problem with Anthony's matchmaking so far and I like the activity, he looks the part and has the tools,I have faith in the stamina issue and even if he does have a glass jaw,in this day and age with his power and profile he has a real shot, and you never know there may still be hope yet for David Price, especially as there's a world title that's not held by a Klitschko

Any boxer can beat any boxer, its plain and simple. The issue we have today is no one will fight no one because they want to keep the zero, and as heavyweight boxing is in such a mess anyone can get a title fight with anyone. So the ones that have a zero will not risk any fight that will ultimately cost them a retirement fund.

Joshua has th eptoential to beat anyone and there are potential people to beat Joshua but no one has come along and given him a decent go. Johnson came to lose, plain and simple. Price, yes he can dig but I do not think he has the mental power to go toe to toe and throw some biggies. Price will freeze, he is the wrong person, well infact the right person for joshua to knock out quickly and move his party onwards.

TBH Tyson Fury is the only one in england that 'could' give AJ a test for a round or 2, but again if Fury hits the chin who knows what will happen. That fight will not happen unless there is a big title at stake.

AJ will get to a world title quick and win it then the fun begins.

Joshua back off! If like too see what he's like backed up. Wilder only let stiverne naturally come. On

All of Joshua's amateur lossess occured when the opposition moved forward and was fairly aggressive, so I'd like to see how he deals with a solid professional opponent taking the same approach. I notice that he's shown a tendency to stiffen up and stick his chin out a bit when under attack, and that's a type of habit that can increase someone's chances of being nailed, which at times he was by the three opponents who beat him (stopped by Nistor, given a count against Majidov, down against Whyte).

Maybe he bombs everyone out before they can mount much offense, but I don't think his opposition has been good enough or taken the right approach for that to be clear.

Right now, I see it as a 50:50 based on who lands the first big shot. I favour Joshua's skills, but his current MO might see him walk onto a wild swing.

We'll know lots more once we've seen him against Whyte, Parker, etc.

This. Technique wise, compared to Wilder Joshua is wearing a shell of paprika, celery salt, crushed chillies and powdered garlic with Herbes de Provence on top.

Folk aren't getting that there are no 'tests' out there for Joshua, only tedium and torpor! :( :-?

Joshua bowls through the guy, avoiding his crude lunges, timing him and knocking him out.

I can't see why AJ couldn't beat him, it only takes one punch. AJ has the power and Wilders chin still not really tested. Wilder is hardly experienced, he's only boxed 70 rounds and 12 of those were in his last fight.

This.

I was convinced that Price would go on to be heavyweight champion of the world. I got that one wrong.

There's no doubt that Joshua is a talented boxer with awesome potential, but let's not spunk ourselves until he fights somebody who will fight back.

Not sure it's about living with the raw power; I don't think AJ will turn out to be a a nuclear puncher like Wlad, Lennox or even Price.

He seems like he'll be more of a heavy handed combination puncher, closer to Bowe than Lennox.

Absolutely, Joshua has to be tested before we can have any idea what he is capable of. Interesting that David Price now thinks after last nights fight he could beat Wilder. My view is he couldn't. Joshua needs some tough opposition before he is put in with somebody like Wilder. Its stupid to match him so hard at his stage.

Comparisons with Price are reasonable; with the exception that there was plenty of evidence that Price's chin was suspect from the Amateur days. And he has a small head which never did bode well for a heavyweight.

Joshua has shown no signs of chinnyness, has a solid looking head, and has been more impressive power wise and skill wise.

Do you reckon he hits harder than Price? I agree Joshua has been more impressive in ever other department but, as far a one punch KO power goes, I'd bet Price hits harder.

Hmmm good question. I think you may have a point. I would have to watch a few videos to refresh my memory

I'd agree that Price has more one punch KO power than Joshua. The final right hand against Audley looked like it could have ko'd a horse.

Have heard this before re: head size. What is the relevance of having a bigger head, surely a bigger target?

Thicker skull I suppose.

I've also heard having a round head (Holyfield, Hagler, Tony) was a factor too.

No idea about the science behind either idea, but having a shorter neck must make a difference.

Honestly I think he could beat him right now, even with Joshua still developing, just don't rate Wilder at all.
