Why did Molina back off the times that he had Wilder in trouble? HE did not follow up at all. Even the shill announcers were commenting on his failure to follow up. Some are saying that he did so because he knew that he was supposed to lose. I don't know. He seemed to be trying very hard EXCEPT at those times. I'd like to see the fight again. Is the full fight available online any place?

I don't know, but it wouldn't have been Wilder's first fixed fight. There was his pal Malik Scott last year.

For the same reason he turned his back on Wilder when he was hurt several times. He just showed up for a payday. Shell up and throw a few haymakers, and be surprised a couple lucky ones landed.

The ref should have stopped in the 5th when he turned his back.

Fixed?!? You think Molina may have decided NOT to get up one of those handful of times he got dropped like a ton of bricks? Guys dont insist to continue taking a prolonged beating in a fixed fight. They look for a healthy way out to go cash a check.

Maybe more like, "Woops I better back off! If I'm not careful I'm gonna knock this bum out by accident and then I'm gonna be in trouble with the mob!"

Well that's what I thought it was going to be, a total setup. I expected Molina to sit down in round one or two, but then I woke up in round three when it suddenly looked like a big upset was in the making, and even the shill announcers stopped their shillery and started paying attention.

I thought the ref did a good job, and I don't say that very often anymore.

He was generally defensive, only engaged when he had to. In the 3rd when he had Wilder visibly hurt it looked strange he did not push but even then I think his mindset was to survive and only try to catch Wilder on the counter.

Could be, but if a better fighter had him in a position like that he would have gone in for the kill.

Seemed to be a bit of the old "Journeyman mentality" ...
