That is exactly an illustration of fighters pushing their agenda and sometimes lying while doing that. Froch says one thing, Ward sees it differently:

but in this case, fergusshit takes Carl's side, because he throws a stone at GGG lying about Golovkin's team wanting a fight at MW.

The whole thing is pointless. Neither guy cares either way about fighting the other. Ward is too stubborn to go to Nottingham, even for the big pay day. Froch obviously doesn't need to go to Oakland. Froch will retire now, it doesn't sound to me like he can get himself up for another fight.
