Same with the movie database ibmd. I used to love that site then they fvcked that up big time. Never use it now as I find it too confusing plus the lay out looks cheaper.
Same as this site.
I second your comment "if it ain't broke don't fix it"

There are loads of reasons why it needed a refresh. The new one works much better on mobiles, which are becoming the leading source of traffic.
As for "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" that's just nonsense really. If you don't change and react to emerging technologies, it'll end up costing you money. I'm sure everyone will get used to it. People just don't like change.

Don't like it at all! Been using the site like many for ten plus years I think. I'm sure I'll get used to it but it blows so far!

With that philosophy we would be still living in the stone age.

IMDB is absolutely fvcking shocking to use now, I also never use it anymore due to the new layout.
The new Boxrec layout doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as that to me but I've not used it on a desktop yet, so will reserve full judgement until tomorrow when I'm back in work.

Yes, nothing could be further from the truth where websites are concerned, if you want to get traffic you have to make changes to abide by the way google search terms work, which constantly changes, or you get heavily penalised for it.

I've got nothing against change but the new layout is terrible. I struggle to see how they could've made it much worse?

I like the new system.
I do have a complaint about the fighter ratings though. Michael Gomez, for example. is a one star rated fighter! and anyone who fought before a certain point in time is zero rated. Why not get rid of the fighter star ratings until such time it is truly meaningful?

Jessie Vargas has 5 stars

But it's great for mobile, can't you see?
Soon it will just be a full page of ads and the word "Boxrec" in the lower left corner, that's it. No one will have a problem accessing it on any device! It will be great! It will show up first on Google!
And if you're against that, you're just old and don't understand technology.
I guess.

This is worse than Dylan going electric.

Is there nowhere that I can see the list of shows closest to me anymore? That was literally the only way I knew of the smaller shows happening in the area.

You can go via the "locations" menu option/ venues. We're planning to include the function as it was in the tab location in a few days.

Thanks, I guessed I must be missing it somewhere. Definitely a good idea to get it functioning as it was, more user-friendly.
