The much anticipated middleweight clash between puncher Gary Lockett and boxer Wayne Elcock has been cancelled due to an injury sustained by Lockett (unspecified).
They were due to meet next Saturday on the Enzo Maccarinelli bill in Newport.

Chief support to Enzo Maccarinelli's WBU cruiser defence against Belgian Ismael Abdoul, will now see Keith Jones make his 100th pro appearance in a clash with Bradley Pryce for the vacant Welsh welter title

They're certainly not giving Jones an easy one for his 100th.

Be nice to see him beat Pryce and end Pryce's career :)

Whats the source of the info regarding Lockett's injury????
I have been browsing the net for a while now trying to find any mention of an injury but can't find anything.
Was really looking forward to this fight, hope it can still happen.

WITH two prospective shows going down the tubes, it's just as well we have next Saturday's event at the Newport Centre to tide us over the summer.
But this, too, has been hit by injury, with Cwmbran puncher Gary Lockett forced to put his WBU middle eliminator with Wayne Elcock back until the autumn.

Unspecified. Lockett has been niggling allegedly recently with a lot of "get me a big fight" talk. He even claimed he had to beg Warren to get a fight on the Hatton-Vilches bill in Manchester.
Unless you're Hatton, it doesn't pay to go public like this where Warren's concerned.

No, Elcock almost certainly won't make the trip now. Give SN a ring tomorrow on 01992 505550 to make sure.

The are a few coaches going down to see elcock so i hope he has'nt pulled out, Could be Locketts last shot if he has, Would it be a possibility for them to put montenigro or whatever his name in with Elcock if Lockett is injured?

Very disapointing (as usual these days), Lockett - Elcock was the fight I was most looking forward too on that card. Now I'm interested in none.
