Pay a fortune for sports packages, BN and PPVs now this fight is on a channel I don't have! Pain in the balls!

As part of their deal with PBC, to replace Friday Night Fights, ESPN retained the global broadcast rights to future PBC shows on the channel. Garcia vs. Malignaggi on the 1st August should be on BT/ESPN, along with all future PBC shows, unless ESPN decide to sell them to another UK broadcaster which seems unlikely.

Good news for boxing fans with BT Sport as the PBC deal is for 12 shows per year, with PBC having the option to buy airtime for a further 3 shows within the next 12 months. Overall it's a 2 year deal with the potential of 30 live shows.

Not sure if I have this anymore.

However this is a poor fight same with Garcia v Malinaggi which is pathetic.

The support fight to Thurman which is Tony Harrison v Willie Nelson looks a good fight though.

Saw Nelsons loss to Martirosyan he is handy and massive at the weight.

The matchmaking of a lot of Haymon's stuff has been shocking, imo. Real 2000s HBO level stuff.

Yeah I was surprised when I heard Garcia v Malignaggi was in the works and even more surprised when it materialised! Some of Garcias choice of opponents over the years have been bemusing! He's been slightly lucky in a few fights now so maybe he knows his lucks going to run out eventually! I don't really like the guy so maybe I am a bit biased. Mainly because of his scrotum of a father. The guy is a world class moron!

Too right! There is a couple guys over my way doing boxes that you just replace your Virgin or Sky box with. Need to invest in one of them I think. Apparently you get a good year out of them. Pays for itself if that's the case. You pay your money you take your chances with these things though lol.

I got a kodi box off amazon. Wasn't expensive about 40 bucks. It beats paying the 80 odd quid sky were robbing off me every month. If you have decent BB speed you'll be fine.

They did do that for Wilder v Stiverne though

Looks to me like a keep busy fight - nothing wrong with that. Collazo is no mug, and is experienced, he's got little chance of winning, but certainly not the worst voluntary defence I ever saw.

I've always thought Garcia seemed like a decent lad but it agree he shouldn't be fighting the class of opponents that he has recently,as for his dad, well he's a complete tosser.

I can't really get excited about this fight even though i love watching Thurman,Collazo has great pedigree and had a great win against Ortiz not long ago but he's finished against top level fighters,Khan gave him a beating which I give Amir credit for but then he(Khan) looked crap against Algieri so if Collazo was anything near he was when he was world champ then I would've expected him to give Khan some problems but he was down a couple times and looked finished, he is coming off a KO win against someone though so at least he's back to winning ways

Its a step back for Keith though after giving Guerrero a beating and nearly stopping him,I hope someone gives him an opportunity after this,Thurman showed against Guerrero and Bundu he can outbox opponents over 12 and he's proven he's more than a puncher but I fancy him to go back to old Keith and KO Collazo in about 4 or 5

Well it wasnt the walkover most including myself predicted, Thurman was badly hurt in the 5th round by a body shot but showed great lateral movement and heart to survive the round,Collazo showing there's life in the old dog yet,its a shame he felt he couldn't continue after 7 rounds because as bad as the cut looked the doc wasn't stopping it and Luis basically quit when he said he couldn't see,it was a strange ending as although Keith was in front,he wasn't landing heavy shots on Collazo

That's the last 3 fights from Thurman where he's seemed to altered his style and doesn't seem to be sitting down on his punches anymore, I was impressed with the Bundu performance as Keith showed he's more than a banger and he had Guerrero in all sorts of bother but couldn't or didn't get him out of there,I was disappointed in Thurman's showing last night,he never asserted himself on Collazo and allowed him to have success, taking nothing away from Collazo but Thurman's choice to fight on the backfoot let Luis nearly derail Thurman

Nelson KO'n Harrison was a big shocker, great end to what was a pish fight

Cut from a head-clash=technical decision, no? Unless the cut is on the away fighter, it appears.

Nice to see the big boxing meedja mentioning details of the bout which might let you know what actually happened--nowhere in Fat Dan's report does it say the words "head clash" or "accidental butt". Nowhere. It says Thurman TKO'd Collazo (in fact, it uses the American colloquialism "knocked out", which in no way makes the homeboy sound better than he was, oh no).

Which just shows how in the fornicating pocket certain news outlets are when it comes to the PBC, imo.

Almost like someone reporting on Flanagan-Zepeda & saying "Flanagan gloriously stopped his man in the first", which I'm sure many hacks are vomiting forth this morning.

I haven't seen it yet but the post above yours says that it wasn't waived off by the ref or doctor but it was collazo that quit.

Was that why it didn't go to the cards?

It was a bit confusing.

Collazo was cut in the 4th or 5th, and the cut was worsening but nothing out of the ordinary.

Then at the end of the 6th, the doctor looked at the cut and Collazo said he couldnt see, to which his trainer replied just keep jabbing, but the doctor asked, "Do you want to continue?' with Collazo replying "I cant see" again.

So with a bit of confusion it was deemed that Collazo retired in his corner.

In the post fight interview Collazo didnt seem to aggrieved that the fight was stopped.

Collazo retired himself.

Thurman needs to work on that body defence, A more live opponent than ollazo would have had him in terrible trouble. If anything it shows that this was a good fight for him at this stage, he is being massively over hyped at the moment and whilst he has shown promise hsi record can be picked apart.

Khan beat Collazo more convincingly in my book. Thurman did show heart to get through the bodyshot. Why Collazo, with all his experience, didn't just go for it after that, is anyone's guess...

I'm not sure Thurman beats Bradley at this stage but Thurman vs Brook? Now that would be an entertaining fight early 2016.
