An odd choice of opponent for me (not that i'd complain as it will make an exciting fight and would be a really good opponent)

But the thing that confuses me is that, one can only assume, Khan is avoiding Brook because of the risk vs reward ratio doesn't add up while he's waiting for the Mayweather lottery ticket coming in

So how does it add up for Thurman?
This fight is every bit as risky as the Brook fight. It doesn't take a creative imagination to see this going the way of the Garcia fight.
And the reward certainly look any more attractive than the Brook fight.
Its an odd one for me. Is Khan just avoiding Brook out of pride and stubborn pig-headedness?

Khan should avoid Thurman at all costs, Thurman's style would be an absolute nightmare for him. He'd have a much better chance against Brook imo.

Thurman hits too hard for Khan.

Jesus, what is going on with Khan and his management.

They turn down a fight which could have been marketed into a huge earner - in favour of fighting the biggest puncher in the division, who as far as I can see - isn't going to mean a big payday - and is really a pick'em fight at best - Khan might be able to outslick him, but he might well get knocked spark out too.

Very very strange decisions.

It should be a great fight, but it could be career suicide for Khan - if he loses this, he's definitely going to become one of the second string guys.

It's all well and good saying that he wants to fight him especially as Thurman is making some headlines in the build up to his fight but there's a difference between wanting to and actually making it happen.

Reasons Khan could use to not fight him:

a) He's the bigger star & should be recognised as that
b) He should come out last
c) He should be in the red corner
d) He is insulted by the purse split
e) He is waiting for mayweather

Absolutely no chance this fight happens.

Khan says he'll fight Thurman if he beats Collazo.

Khan said he'd fight Kell if he beat Porter.

Khan is just talking and keeping his name out there, (see David Haye).

No chance this fight happening as if Thurman lands its good night Amir.

Probably something as simple as the fact the Brook fight would still be there even if he lost to Thurman, Hearn could still sell a big rivalry and the British public at large are well aware of Khan.

Yes, on reflection - I think this is what it is. I just cannot see how on earth this fight would happen.

Fair play to Khan if he did though.

It wouldn't so much cause over her his name would bring money to the fight that Brook isn't currently getting. Do you think joe public would give a fornicate about a loss to Thurman? It could be hyped easily, and Khan's name would be a big big help in that.

Khan talks far far too much. I used to be a fan but I can't stick him now. I'd be very surprised if he fights Brook or Thurman. He'll end up fighting Andre Berto or Victor Ortiz or someone in that category!

Thurman certainly seems to bang but I've seen him look sluggish. Khan at his best could dance rings round him. But having said that, he hasn't always shone himself. If he fought like I saw him in Sheffield two years ago (Diaz), I could well see him getting done. Khan at his best though beats Thurman.

Are we any closer to finding out who will face Mayweather in September? The way Khan is talking here suggests he doesn't feel confident at getting the shot

I'm all for keeping your name in the papers by calling out etc but in Khan's case it's become tedious now.

I got lost going round the 'whereas' bush with the WBO statement on Floyd so can anyone confirm if Bradley is now the WBO champion? If so, that would be a good fight for Khan

I think Thurman is far too good and ambitious for Khan right now,although i'd love to see it happen,just to watch Brooks face in the sky studio when Khan gets ko'd

I wouldn't be surprised to see Khan in with Vargas, I'd be shocked if he ever went near Thurman
