I've always been fascinated by this, as emblematic as it was of just how much a circus act Audley had become, even with his much-protected '0' intact.

Bruno claims it was never going to happen in his autobiography, though he certainly appeared keen at the time.

Let's assume that mental health issues weren't a factor, and he got into the best physical condition he could have for his 42 years. Obviously we've no idea how ring rusty he'd have been, but hey, it's only a poll, nobody gets hurt. Actually Tomasz Bonin barely got hurt by Harrison either, and he was a pole as well. Pfftt...

Who do you think would have won?

Couldn't really back against Audley if this happened, he was never really cut out for the pro game but against a 40 odd year old who hadn't fought for 7 years and was going through some pretty serious mental health issues at the time I don't think he would have had much trouble.

Audley still had a jab at that stage so I reckon him.

Obv Audley wasn't meant for the pros, but he seemed to lose something physically after that operation

If there was a weight between Cruiser and Heavyweight then Herbie Hide would of been a monster.
2003 Audley Harrison could of relied on his amateur experience and beat a faded frank.

Big Frank retired a long time before that, have a bit of respect. I saw him six months ago and he's still in good nick, though.

200, it just came along too late for him. And like Haye, I don't think he'd have been able to resist moving up.

Under-rated fighter Hide. Exciting to watch aswell with his knock out power. The riot did a lot of damage to his public image.

Despite it, I felt sorry for Herbie after his 'loss' to Mindaugas Kulikauskas.

That cut stoppage was certainly unfortunate - wouldn't happen under revised rulings.

It would have been interesting what Herbie would have done if the 200lb cruiser limit had been around earlier in his career. He also got himself into position as a cruiser under Ohner late on in his career but then it all just fizzled out before he got a title fight.

His autobiography is a good read.

You have to wonder if it's the knocks on the head that has brought about his decline.

Was great to see him rise up the rankings a few years ago in his twilight.

I thought both did really rather well financially.

Herbie. He had big fights for good money. Just never had the huge one with a massive payday.

Herbie's purse for his Riddick Bowe trampoline display was two million quid, which he built a Norwich mansion with. Not a bad chunk of change for 1995. Which is also the number of times he was knocked down.

Let's pretend that Bruno didn't have the mental health issues and also give him a couple of tune-up fights after his seven year lay-off. With those provisos I would pick Frank to best Audley, just look at the calibre of opponent that he was facing in 2003...

He should of had a decent payday for his Klitschko defence aswell.

Didn't Bruno retire after being told a couple more punches could inure his eye?

Let's pretend Henry Cooper wasn't dead, was closer in age, and had two warm up fights, would he have beat Audley in 2003?

Seemingly Herbie earned in excess of £300M one way or another and he's looking to reinvest in the UK. As it happens, I'm helping his Nigerian representative arrange the transfer of funds as we speak. It's a convoluted process but the end result sounds appealing for all parties.
