On the Scott Harrison bill, Ian Darke talked about will Nigel Senior make his 100 pro contest mark before September when his licence runs out. By the way he was commentating it sounded like his licence would not be renewed. Why is this? Any answers?

Nah, it's just he's into his 40's, starting to get knocked around a little and will bow out on his 100th. It's a shame he and Keith Jones couldn't have squared off in a meeting of centurions (Jones fights Bradley Pryce in his 100th fight on Saturday). Two great little pros with fair power.

Am I right in thinking that Italy is the only European country that does have an age limit for Pro fighters?

Yes, I think you're right. Sumbu Kalambay had to call it a day at 35.

No, Kalambay was class. I saw him box the ears off Iran Barkley once, and this was a young, hungry Barkley. He also twice licked Bomber, of course. That speaks for itself.

I remember the second Kalambay V Bomber Greham fight being a close one (if memory serves...). What I do recall at the end of the fight the referee raised Bombers hand by mistake!!

I'm sure there was some strange scoring in that fight didn't one judge give about 8/9 rounds to Kalambay?

The trouble is when you get to forty your brain starts to shrink which makes it move more when getting hit the same as boxing when dehydrated really, this age limit should be looked at.

I hope he achieves his goal, it will be deserved. Obviously, I don't want him to cut corners in achieving it (and risk injury) but if he hasn't reached it by the given date, I hope he gets granted a licence. He knows how to handle himself, and I'm sure he'll be okay.

I've seen Nigel take a few heavy beatings of late and would like to see him hang his gloves up.

That's interesting. I think Wayne Shepherd is well into his 40's as an active pro.

From what his manager,Jimmy Gill has said,what they are trying to do is get Nigel to 100 fights before his medical runs out because it will prove costly to get a new licence..i.e brain scans etc. and to fork all that out just for one or maybe two fights would be unfortunate for Nigel.

I think Jimmy is his matchmaker, but I must admit, I'm not 100 per cent sure.
