Exposes lol yea ok.....Thurman has always been a mover.
Thurman or Spence is the men at 147 in a yr or 2.

At this moment I would take Brook over Thurman. Love to see Porter v Thurman or either of them v Khan.
From the beginning Thurman's body looked soft. Collazo landed a beauty of a left to the body. Thurman showed heart to survive the round and not take a knee but he is soft to the body.

Yep exposes the fact that he can be walked down, can't take it to the body and that his punching power is questionable.

Everyone gets hurt, if no Floyd then yea id like to see him fight Brook or Porter. That would for sure answer questions. He ran like that against Guerrero but he lands bombs all night anyways.

Have to agree with folks here.
Khan's UD victory over Collazo looked a hulluva lot more dominant than Thurman's TKO.
Keith is still a work in progress, or at least I hope so.

For the first 4 rounds Thurman looked fine, he was sharp powerful quick and shooting all kinds of shots from a number of angles, he looked good.
In the 5th round Thurman went on the run and got caught late in the round with a body shot, Collazo went on the attack and seemed to turn the tide.
In the sixth and seventh Thurman didn't play it as cautious as he did in the fifth but no where near as aggressive as he was in the opening 4 rounds.
In the corner and the end of the 7th Collazo was asked if he could continue and he said he couldn't see, that's how I saw it.
I wouldn't say it's a bad night for Thurman but questions of what happened around the 5th round should be asked.

Mayweather would embarrass Thurman. A blind man could see it. Thurman is a nice fighter but I wouldnt pick him against Kell Brook frankly. Not sure I'd pick him against Errol Spence. In fact I'm pretty sure I'd favor Spence. Probably Bud Crawford as well as he eventually ends up at 147. Bradley beats Thurman as well. So many good talents at welterweight. So many great fights to be made. Maybe we can get 1-2 of them in the next 5 yrs.

Cant see him embarrassing Thurman.
Kell Brook ? Thurman has it in him to beat Kell on points at the least.

Thurman wouldnt be embarrassed by any of the top guys but he isnt unbeatable. It was a great body shot by Collazo. If he landed that against any welterweight it wouldve had a similar effect. Good couple of fights by PBC and great to see it on ESPN. makes it easily accessible in Australia.

exposes him that after a good shot to the body, he has grit to stay up and fight on. he is not a robot every body can be hit, which makes fights exticting

Keith "Runtime" Thurman has some balls saying he is insulted at the suggestion of him fighting Errol Spence jr. I am convinced that he has been overhyped. I think he has descent power however I don't think he carries that power past the third round. He is not ready for PBF. Kell Brook would mess him up for sure and yes, had Spence been the one hitting him to the body he would have folded up.

People, including myself, were ridiculing this matchup. It was not just that one body shot. Thurman looked soft. Collazo was walking him down, ffs.
This was expected to be a showcase of his talents. Thurman was the man hurt more often in the fight.
No way FMJ, Bradley, Brook, Porter, and (obviously) khan are that bothered by Collazo. Throw Danny, matthysse and Crawford on that list as well, and a host of others.
Thurman will have a line at his door now. Nobody fears him this morning. If he improves his game, that's a good thing.

Maybe it was a ruse to get people to finally fight him :)

It was a no win situation for Thurman last night so I'm not going to draw a conclusion like some of these dopes here because a guy took a hellacious body shot. Collazo was obviously not expecting to go 12 rounds so he put on a crazy pace he could never keep and tried to get Thurman out of there early before quitting. It's a KO in the books instead a decision win like Khan can be proud of so i'd still rather be Thurman.
The sad part is that we are seeing a pathetic trend in boxing lately with fighters quitting on their stool in big fights. If i'm promoting nowadays, i'm putting a quit clause in the verbiage that docks any fighter that quits unnecessarily. That's the last time i want to see the soft Collazo. He should worry less about his next tattoo and more about showing some pride in the ring.

Btw, Collazo should watch the UFC card from last night to see what pride and fighting with a little blood in the eye is all about. Not a huge UFC fan but last night's card was absolutely amazing battles of will.

Thurman wasn't exposed, but I think Collazo showed us that Thurman isn't unbeatable and does have some weaknesses that certain fighters might be able to take advantage of in the future. What was most obvious to me is Thurman prefers to fight off the back foot and isn't that good at cutting off the ring against someone with decent lateral movement (although I kind of already knew that). Now if Collazo was younger and had the legs to work off his jab and move like he did in the first couple rounds for the full 12 rounds, the fight would have played out much differently. At Collazos age he just wasn't able to maintain that style or he would have eventually faded and probably got stopped anyways.. I think he realized that early and started applying pressure of his own, hoping to catch Thurman knowing he wasn't going to be able to move all night.
Even after this fight, I'm 100% convinced, Thurman beats anyone at 147 other than Mayweather and maybe Kell Brook and Timothy Bradley. Thurman would knock the shit outta Khan.. mainly because Khan is a straight up and down fighter with limited lateral movement, Khan pulls straight back all the time and that's just asking to get caught by someone like Thurman (Khan looking more impressive against Collazo would mean nothing in this fight lol). Thurman out boxes anyone else at 147 though, but don't feel he's the same kind of puncher at the world level but still has enough skills to the point he doesn't have to rely on his power to beat most guys.
Porter gets soundly outboxed by Thurman and potentially stopped. Bradley would be a tough fight, but I think Thurman has enough skills to get Bradley to come forward and try to dictate the pace of the fight.. Bradley has the skills to beat Thurman, I just think he's too proud to stick to the game plan he needs to beat Thurman, just to please the ungrateful fans out there. Madiana would be a cracking fight and think Madaina could potentially win, but I think Thurman has a few more tools and would win by UD in a tough fight. Pacquiao is too small and I'm pretty sure Thurman would knock him out. Spence would be a interesting fight, but I haven't seen enough of Spence at the world level to pick him to beat Thurman at this point. Brook has the tools and I think along with Floyd is the only guy I'm confident could box all night and make it hard for Thurman to find him and beat Thurman on points.

I don't know why everybody mentions Bradley who went life and death with Chaves and was hurt by Vargas. I think Provo permanently damaged him. Thurman would stop current Bradley.

Thurman knocked down all of his opponents, minus Zaveck, where he won every round though.
Collazo didn't get the green W, but he did a good job.

I don't think this fight exposes Thurman to me, but it still keeps the same questions around. I saw him dropped on ESPN. I have seen him hurt or stung moderately in the Karass and Chaves fights. He tends to move too much. The likes of Collazo or Ghost shouldn't offer the firepower for Thurman not to sit on his punches more. It seems Thurman can be hurt both upstairs and down. His power isn't as great as advertised, no where near one time. It's not terrible either though.
I didn't buy into his hype that started around the Quintana fight. I think he's still a very solid fighter and growing. I'd say he's entering the B+ range currently. The fact he can be hurt makes his fights interesting. Shows a lot of heart getting out of trouble. Well spoken and articulate. Can keep his power around later in fights, as the Karass and Chaves fights showed. I'm not 100% sure if he's the man at 147 once Pac/May retire. I think he'll be a solid fighter and player in the division, just not sure if he's "that" guy.
