While I can respect your list because I know it's your own but I'm not sure how one could have Tyson ahead of SRL, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Hopkins, Floyd or Manny. I'm sure you have your reasons.

maybe it's the last 30 years part, which means what they did after july of 85, which cancels out
most of the best things srl, hagler, hearns and duran did. floyd and manny accomplished a lot
especially as far as acquiring abc's but floyd in particular avoided the best guys when those fights
were there to be made, and that isn't just about the one guy you are obsessed with, so he definitely
belongs behind the youngest guy to win and unify the heavyweight title.

Nice list. I'd maybe switch Hopkins and have RJJr and Pacquaio in there instead given the amazing accomplishments in coming through the weight classes which i rank higher than longevity. Marquez certainly deserves q spot too, probably top 10, although i'm maybe bias since he's my favorite fighter since The Louisville Lip. And speaking of whom, your list reminds me of just how much i rank Ali & Ray Rob ahead of all the rest.

Notice I didn't make this post out to be about Floyd, I just stated ATG for the last 30 years, you are here to single out Mayweather. It isn't about what they did within that last 30 years but it's about who they were. Everything that SRL and the rest did prior counts, if they were active within that last 30 years then they deserve credit for what they did prior as well.
You claiming Floyd avoided the best guys with no proof whatsoever other than to come here and muddy the water on this topic has no bearing on my topic.

I agree.. I think Lewis is the best HW of the past 30 years, with Holmes being a close second.. But can't put Lewis at #1 overall.

SRL, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, Arguello, Prior, Holmes all left out as they did their best stuff before 85 otherwise the list looks very different at the top end.

Mayweather has A WAY superior record than Tyson, that is ludicrous.
The best fighters on Tyson's record that he beat, were an inactive Larry Holmes, a great light heavyweight, but far from Great heavyweight champ in Spinks, and Trevor Berbick.
If you're going to be critical of Floyd, then apply the same critique to Tyson. That's one of the most stupid lists I've ever seen.

Good call on Hearns, he often seems to get left out of the PFP discussions, but he won titles from Welterweight to Light heavyweight, and destroyed Roberto Duran, to name just two of his achievements. I'd possibly rate Jones higher, given how long his period of dominance was, and the win at Heavyweight too, DLH surely should be higher too. Still, all subjective, and this doesn't seem a biased list.

OK, I don't like those types of lists since I think it's hard to compare fighters even from close eras, but I'll post my top-10 here too:
1. Ray Leonard
2. Roberto Duran
3. Floyd Mayweather
4. Larry Holmes
5. Pernell Whitaker
6. Bernard Hopkins
7. Evander Holyfield (yes, P4P I rank him higher than Lewis or Wlad)
8. Manny Pacquiao
9. Roy Jones
10. Thomas Hearns
11. Juan Manuel Marquez
After top-11 I have really hard time raking others greats in order, but there would be a group of Ricardo Lopez, Lennox, Chavez, Tyson, Toney, Barrera, Trinidad, ODLH, Mosley, Michael Spinks and some others. As for Klitschkos, I won't rank Wlad untill his legacy is complete, and Vitali shouldn't be ranked in top-20 because of his poor resume. Sure he had some good wins (Sanders, Hide, even Peter), and lost only by injuries/cuts in the fights he was winning against very good/great fighters, and I know some people doesn't consider his losses to Byrd and Lewis as "real losses", but they aren't wins either. So his list of wins is too poor to rank him in top-20 or even top-30. H2H he and Bowe and guys like Tszyu, who also had pretty poor resume, should be ranked much higher, but we are talking about accomplishments, aren't we?
Edit: Just read my post and have problems with it already
![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
If we rank guys like Larry Holmes and Roberto Duran, who made their legacies mostly prior to 1985, then we should include guys like Foreman, Arguello, Prior, Benitez and some others. In that case it would be hard for me to rank even top-10 in order. That's why I hate those types of lists.

No Galaxy or Finito Lopez? Probably due to a lot of people on here only starting to watch boxing within the last 10 years. You simply can't have an ATG list of the last 30 years without those 2 on there.

Leonard has no place on this list.
If we start this from 1985 until now. Leonard was 3-3-1
With that draw being a loss admitted by himself.
Yes leonard was an atg but his body of work post 1985.
Is not worthy to make this list.

I thought it was interesting that Freddie Roach said if Roy Jones Jr.quit after his heavyweight belt he would be considered GOAT.
I'm his prime I do think he was the best I've seen.
