Suggestion: remove WBA secondary titleholders from the champions table

For example, Jurgen Braehmer isn't the WBA champ, Sergey Kovalev is. And Ruslan Chagaev isn't the WBA champion, Wladimir Klitschko is.

The WBA secondary beltholders and "interim" titleholders are not really "champions".

Here's the page I'm referring to:

Agreed, and remove the IBO 'champions' as well.

because wlad and GGG are not real "champions", nor were rjj, lennox lewis, floyd, and
manny when they held the ibo. whatever anyone thinks about how the ibo compares
to the others, the wba with 3 or 4 or whatever world champs walking around at the
same time is ridiculous. all wba champs should be removed until the wba publicly
states they have just one world champion

The IBO have generally had significantly worse champs than the big 4. Don George won their 168 title against Dyah Davis shortly after being knocked out by Caleb Truax to give one example of them having a mediocre champion. Inexperienced Aussie Zach Dunn recently beat career MW Max Bursak, who unanimously lost to Jarrod Fletcher then lost nearly every round to Martin Murray, for the same title.

I don't mind having the IBO there, since they have just one "champion" per division. Some of their beltholders are real champions, such as Klitschko now and Lewis a few years back.

What needs to be changed is that under WBA light heavyweight champion, there's a photo of the mediocre secondary titleholder Braehmer (who hasn't beat anyone of note for a long time) instead of the REAL WBA champion Kovalev.

And under WBA heavyweight champion, there's a photo of the mediocre secondary titleholder Chagaev (who hasn't beat a top 20 HW in years) instead of the REAL WBA champion Klitschko.

What I'm suggesting is they change Braehmer to Kovalev, Chagaev to Klitschko, etc. People don't mind seeing several photos of the same boxer there - it indicates CLARITY for the division.

Ya, that should be changed. Maybe reporting it to an editor in the records section would work.....Quillin was incorrectly still listed as WBO champ after the Lee fight but someone reported it in that section and it was changed.

Mixed Feelings

1) WBA is a Joke.

2) The "regular" champion is even a bigger joke

BUT....

3) If it's the only way Chagaev fights Pianetta, if it's the only way Chagaev fights Oquendo, if it's the only way Chagaev fights Lucas Browne, then some good has come from it.

If it increases matches that's a good thing.
