Going up in weight

I'm a comfortable light-heavyweight but been offered a catchweight match with a cruiserweight (amateurs).

I'm not worried about the opponent in terms of skill level, but don't want to give him too much of a weight advantage.

I'm currently 80kg and tend to fight in the high 70s. The opponent is currently 90kg so said we can meet halfway at 85kg.

I don't struggle with weightmaking (I could make super-middle but don't feel strong enough at that weight) and in fact would struggle to go up.

So, any pointers on how to do so effectively? I realise extra calorie and protein consumption is the order of the day, and perhaps heavier weights, but I don't want to cut back on any cardio work, and that is what cuts the kilos.

I have 2.5 months.

Probs best to use the Evander Holyfield method mate, either that or weights and eat 6 medium size meals per day. This usually takes a lot longer than 2.5 months though.

If I take creatine I tend to put about 6 pounds on .

6lb is a lot less than 5kg!

Still, never mind - he's pulled out with an injury.
