On IFL Hearn mentioned originally wanting AJ-Whyte for September but then Whyte broke his hand & his trainer was involved in some trouble so they had to move it to later in the year.

Good chance they'll be on the same night cos Cornish won't last long.

Isn't Gary Cornish under Kelly Maloney now?

Doesn't seem the smartest move to start the relationship - a devastating KO loss.

A step back for AJ.

Cornish is big and undefeated (which may be the only things casuals see--get ready for all the talk of Joshua being the future GOAT when he swiftly flattens Cornish) but he hasn't fought anyone, doesn't seem to have much of a punch (couldn't even drop spaghetti legs Larry), has been put down by a nobody, and in general fights like someone who recently took up the sport. Put him in with KJ, Bakhtov, and even someone like Airich and I think there's a very good chance of him going 0-3.

In my opinion Cornish is a loss waiting to happen once he starts fighting decent opponents. I'm sure he'll be quickly blown away but I'd think he'd be paid much better than he has been for fighting fat Eastern European journeymen.

presumably Cornish just wants a pay day he isn't going to last very long at all.

I think Cornish would struggle against the Brazilian guy that Pricey and Parker beat, Irineu Beato Costa Jnr, nevermind Joshua.

It may sound crazy, but if Freddy Flintoff can get a pro licence, why not AJ do something for similar but be the first to have 2 fights in one night, I know the BBBoC would not allow this but put an angle on it, a Comic Relief event, for sick kids or something, Charity is always good and im sure the BBBoC would allow a 'one off' for charity. The cornish fight is a one rounder, ive never been so sure since Lennox Lewis v Derek Williams (rd3 ko)

They could make a little documentry for it and give it a title of something like: 'The Great British Bash Off' Start with the cornish fight and get Whyte gloved up ready for a quick entry to follow round 1. Whyte could come in and begin round 2. Have a premium rate telephone number for donations flashing across the screen and it all makes sense. You could have a Xfacter reject Louis Walsh clapping shouting to Whyte 'Take him to deadlock'

Well i think its a good idea.

Mimmy, he wouldn't be the first to have two fights in a night though.

A boxer has up to 3 fights on a Prizefighter card.

This fight will be a bit like price vs dallas in that cornish looks a respectable name on paper but is actually many levels below josh and will get obliterated very early on and probably wont be coming to win anyway.

To be fair Dallas had a bit of amateur pedigree with the two ABA finals and had sparred plenty of rounds with Price. Price actually finished him as a fighter that night, he never recovered. Dallas back then would have beat this version of Cornish I reckon

Against the likes of Cornish I think AJ could handle two opponents on the same night no problem.
