There's a similar thread about Froch, but I'm amazed that Conteh isn't in the HOF. Was a great great champion and surely deserves to be in.

Who was the best opponent he beat? What are his best three or four results? How was his longevity at the top? Was he a big name or someone who could be inducted partially because of an especially high profile?

He loved his nan though which make all of your points null and void.

GET HIM IN!

Maybe no stand out names but when all is said and done I wonder how many of Froch's foes are future HOFers? (I'm really not that sure.)
In Conteh's favour obviously there was no super-middleweight or even cruiserweight division either side of the light-heavies back then. I believe he beat a number of 'genuine' top ten opponents. I think he sneaks in by virtue of a solid 'tache.

If he was American, he'd be in there already. There's a massive biased to American fighters. How can Vigil Hill be in there, but bot Eubank? Both had long reigns and didn't beat the absolute best.

He reigned the division for 4 years at a time of fewer champions and weight classes.
He beat Lopez and Finnegan who I thought both were world class.
He Also had FAME in abundance, was a massive tv star in the uk and always popped up on the box, especially for his charity work.

Apparently tom sellick based the magnum pi tache on the Conteh style.
