Saw a tweet by Ed Robinson a few weeks ago talking about old boxers that current boxers should study. Led to a lot of replies about active boxers and retired boxers with similar styles.

What boxers can you think of that remind you, for example with their fighting styles, of boxers of the past?

Roman Gonzalez, 112lb Chavez.

Golovkin I m o there's a real touch of early Tszuyu in his style.

Mark Selby and Herol Graham....speed, reflexes and agility from two boys from the provinces ....silky skills that sometimes means they make a tough business like prize fighting look effortless. Different generations, weights and upbringings...but there's something there.

David Price and Gerry Cooney. Or is that overly harsh??

Both in style and build, Ruslan Chagaev reminds me of George Chuvalo ...

Yes massively...Price wouldn't last two minutes with Holmes. Fury is another bad example. Cooney could punch and never slapped.

Offensively DeGale reminds me of Michael Nunn, but has more of a shell type defence where Nunn generally had his hands down.
