Since the color line/racism was still effective in those days, I thought I would rank the top black heavyweights of this era. Some of these men were very talented fighters who for one reason or another(mainly due to the color of their skin), never received the big opportunities so they ended up not maximizing their potential.

I think Moore is way too high given the timeframe (Moore had barely fought any HWs by 1948 save a past-it Sheppard and Bivins), as is Godfrey (whose prime was the late 1920s=by 1930 he was regularly coming into fights overweight and disinterested). Bump up Bivins, Thompson, Walker, and Sheppard. I'd also rank Haynes lower-despite his Ws over Murray, I have film of him vs Godoy and he doesn't look good-crude and raw.
