Lenny Daws won tonight, but one again Channel 5 couldn't be bothered to put him on. The Hughie Fury fight got televised twice though.

Why do they rarely put the Lenny Daws fights on channel 5? If he was one of the Fury cousins, they'd be spunking all over him.

They showed the Fadli fight but they're not going to show him fighting journeymen, he isn't a big name and at 36, isn't top of the list when it comes to being built up into a draw. Blackwell fight finished early so they had time to show another fight, which was Fury because a lot of people won't have watched it when it was on Spike and it was chief support. If he's in a decent fight then it'll be televised, but I don't see why Channel 5 would be expected to show a 36 year old veteran beating up an overmatched journeyman who's turned up to survive.

I like Lenny Daws he is good value! I would take Wilie Limond to beat him though!

Lenny was on just before 6pm on Saturday, Lenny didn't mind not getting shown as this was his first outing since the Fadli fight, good performance considering he'd had 8 months out, his opponent held at every opportunity and had two points taken off and it could've been more had the referee got on him a bit earlier, but well pleased to get the 8 rounds in and no cuts, Mick's working on the European title which will hopefully be the next fight, as soon as anything's definite I'll post it up.

I'd like to have seen lenny after the long layoff. always gives 100%

It was scheduled to happen just before Christmas, but got postponed. (To February, I think.)

But even in December, there was very little talk of a TV deal. I was hoping it'd be on Channel 5, but we heard nothing.

Lenny fights on Feb 11 in Carshalton, this Yigit comes with a big rep but had a look at him and he is no world beater so Lenny must have a chance if he is anything like the fighter he was before the lay off and injuries.

I know Ian his trainer reads on here, it would be interesting to know how Len is doing, fight was called off for a back injury prior to Christmas, is that ok now Ian? How is Len looking in the gym any signs of age catching up?

No porkies Ian as I am thinking of placing a decent bet at the odds which are currently on offer, Lenny is 3/1 with Yigit being the 2/9 fav.

I intended to go last time he fought in Carshalton. Couldn't make it, it ended up on telly. I managed to get home and watch the main event on +1.

The show started with Tyson Fury trying to calm down a riot.

Good fight this. I'm in the camp that believes Yigit is overrated and Daws gives him a good fight.

Lenny's all good now thanks mate, he was looking very good prior to the injury, it was only a niggle but we really didn't want to risk it, so we called it off sadly, but he's back in the gym working hard and looking forward to February, and still looking like he's in his twenties, not a porkie in there and thanks for your good wishes

I think Lenny will have to be at his best, yigit no world beater but a good win over Schwartzcopfe who has gone on to win a minor title.

Been looking at Schwartzcopfe record. He beat Junior Witter on a MD out in Germany at the end of Witter's career SO Witter defiantly won that fight and he ain't got any other names on his record at all.


Anthony Yigit Has a good record. He drew with Tony Pace in Denmark who's a average fighter Won 4 Lost 5 at the time. He also beat Philip Sutcliffe Jn on a MD in Germany so I'm sure Sutcliffe would of done enough to win it. He's been Over here Training for a while at St Pancreas... looking forward to this fight Lenny is a Massive price and I see him winning..

To be fair Witter had a couple of bad decisions against him towards the latter part of his career.

Wow Daws is 38. Well done for still going at that age in that weight class. Yigit 25 and undefeated, I think it's quite a big ask, all about what level Yigit is really at though.

And Daws has still got one of the best engines in the game

Daws lost on a UD 118-110, 118-110 and 116-112.

Did look a big ask at his age against a young contender.
