Anthony Mundine's Return 24/10 Melbourne

Anthony will be fighting one of these opponents. In order of most likely to least likely from top to bottom.

- Carson Jones (Provided he beats Rose on Saturday)
- James Kirkland
- Alfredo Angulo
- Soto Karass

Theres a little bit about Jones fighting Mundine here http://boxing-kingdom.blogspot.com.au/2 ... video.html

Carson also mentions here about Mundine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrgfxSmaYSs

All are solid bouts.

It will be funny if Rose beat Jones on Saturday.

If that happens I doubt Mundine fights any of the other three.

The links you provided to a possible Mundine vs Carson Jones fight are tenuous at best.

As the Mundine vs Andrade thing only fell over recently your list has the look of a back to the drawing board scenario which begins with just listing a few names.

Probably share the same view. It is far easier to drop names than secure fights. As we have seen with Trout, Andrade and many other names dropped prior to those ones.

Carson Jones lost. So James Kirkland then is it?

According to Dan Rafael, Kirkland is a big possibility to be on the Cotto vs Canelo Alvarez undercard.

There is a reason Jones was the "most likely".
There will also be reasons for Anthony not fighting any of the others.

They are just waiting on news from the WBC convention. Looks like they will fight for full title. Will have to be Rose, Clottey rematch etc.

Surely Rose couldn't jump from #15 to a title fight? Particularly when Mundine is only #4 regardless of him holding the minor belt. This is what the WBC currently have on their website:

1 .- Saul Alvarez (Mexico)
2 .- Jermell Charlo (US)
3 .- Vanes Martirosyan (Armenia)
4 .- Anthony Mundine (Australia) SILVER
5 .- John Jackson (Virgin Islands)
6 .- Sergey Rabchenko (Belarussia)
7 .- Austin Trout (US)
8 .- Julian Williams (US) AMERICA
9 .- Joshua Clottey (Ghana)
10 .- Jorge Cota (Mexico)
11 .- Luciano Cuello (Argentina)
12 .- Domonique Dolton (US)
13 .- Cedric Vitu (France) EBU
14 .- Willie Nelson (US)
15 .- Brian Rose (GB)

Theres only 3 fights the can be made off that. Clottey Rematch, Willie Nelson or Brian Rose.

I assume it's most likely Choc's next fight is one of those three. Would be very suprised if it wasn't those three or Soto Karass.

Rose could easily jump those places, considering those fighters would be unwilling to face Mundine. Vanes is fighting Ishe so he's out. Mundine just recently beat Rabchenko. Julian Williams is fighting Trout end of year or early next year. Cota, Dolton, Vitu are dreams, the WBC knows that.

14 and 15 would be realistically able to fight for title. And the rankings wouldn't stay like that. E.G convention is November. By then, the rankings will be totally different and Rose & Nelson especially will be top 4.

Joshua Clottey could be forgiven for rubbing his hands together about now if Mundine gets to fight for the full WBC title and few of the other contenders are available.

Willie Nelson sounds about right for the Man, considering singer Willie is 82 years old!

Surely the most logical way to assess this is from a what's in it for the WBC point of view? Because that's how they will look at.

You referred to the better fighters in the WBC ratings by saying "considering those fighters would be unwilling to face Mundine."

If that truly is the case, you then have to ask yourself if the WBC would really want to create an opportunity for Mundine to contest the full title against a #15 rated opponent. Because where to then for the WBC if Mundine happened to win?

Surely the WBC would prefer their big guns to be contesting the title.

The WBC Convention official opening is November 2nd. Mundine's fight is scheduled for October 24th.

In the mean time why would Rose's win over Jones suddenly catapult him above the bigger names currently rated higher than him?

Rose is not going to jump all the contenders off his win over Jones and he's never going to be in the top four.

Canelo will not interested in Mundine(something about a guy named Cotto).

Jermell Charlo is next, has no fight scheduled and won't have an issue with going to Australia for a title shot.
If he would even have to go to Australia.
Charlo has been fighting on Showtime, the network could put up enough money to bring Mundine to America.

What's in it for the WBC if Charlo has their belt?
Sanctioning fees from possible fights with any of the following: Mayweather, Canelo, Cotto.

There are plenty of fighters available on that list.
Jackson, Rabchenko, Clottey...............none of them have fights scheduled and all of them would jump at a title opportunity.

Agreed, but he is a paradox, just when you read someting nice about him he says something that contradicts what everybody who knows him says he is. Personaly i like him and would love him to fight a top 5 guy. And even if he lost i wouldn't think any less of him. But if he doesn't fight a top 5 guy next up i will wipe him as a fighter. I thought the Andrade fight was the perfect fight at the perfect time...

So the bloke dont drink! what serious boxer does?.
Your own racial profiling has shown you are indeed predjudice by highlighting that.
My comment was only pertaining to the mans charachter...or lack of it.
Also..'charity work' is not exclusive to Mundine...Pacquao makes him look like a miser
And closer to home...Danny Green has done more than he ever will.
"Pac makes him look like a miser'' Pac earns more in one fight than Mundine could earn in five life times.
There it is in the last line, the reference to Green. Get over it mate, it's nearly a decade ago since the '' CLINIC ''.
How embarrassed were you, after telling all your friends Green would KO him easy, sitting there watching your man getting his arse handed to him.
If you detest the bloke so much and think he is a pea heart then wander down to the old mans gym and tell him to his face. He's not that hard to find.
